(22oz bottle) Purchased on August 1, 2005, at Winooski Bev in Winooski, VT. Pours a thin, white, frothy head with a non-carbonated gold body. Nose of wheaty eggz. Flavour is spicey, wheaty and off - cantloupe. Very watery. Another beer that didn’t last 3 weeks?

Tap at McNeill’s. Apple juice appearance, no head. Malty slight apple nose. Malty low hop palate. Clean dry finish. Slight carmel note. Lite flavored session beer.

Tap @ McNeill’s. Light gol color. Not as bad as I’d expected. Flavor is tasty with some lemon/lime that makes it refreshing throughout.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 23, 2005
Nice cloudy pale yellow color with no head. Aroma is somewhat promising, drawing strength from lemons, bananas, cloves, vanilla and whole wheat bread. First flavor impression is that this is more in line with a pilsner. Pale, musky malts with a dense biscuit character, transitioning to a sourdough follow-through. Some substantial herbal qualities as well. Bolder and fuller than other beers classified as a wheat. Big time malts, and musky pils all the way. Faint hints at honey and banana make this a partial candidate for the wheat bill but it stops there. However, as a pils, it’s up there with the best of them. Thanks to tpkenned for getting this rarity for me!
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 BuckNaked (1222) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 20, 2004
Bottle: Well this is one of the worst McNeill’s I’ve tried yet. Old wheat, cereal grains, and just not much else. Taste: stale biscuit, dough, slight sour apple. Very watery, tastless, not very exciting. Surprising for the quality I’ve come to expect from McNeill’s.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 ClarkVV (3578) - Allston, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 20, 2004
2004 bottle compliments of bucknaked the man with the mcneils. Didnt want to rate this on any pretense but man, this shit smells like boring old wheat, light pils malt, light no bitter hops. Flavor is old, stale and just not full enough to hold any real flavor. Watery, thin, bland, dominated by wheat, full of crap. Whatever, it just dosent cut it. Smooth and soft texture, but just not enough of anything else.
