jredmond (592), New Jersey, USA Apr 5, 2008 12 oz bottle/ The body is black. The aroma is very light - almost nothing. Although I had a really strong scented Smoked beer right before so my senses may be a little off. The taste is pretty light - slight roast characteristic.
Ughsmash (2835), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 23, 2008 Bottled. Poured iced tea brown with a short cap of tan head. The aroma picked up sweeter chocolates and toasted barley with a weak overall impression.. pleasant components, though. The flavor had toasted nutty notes, caramel, and sweeter chocolate all amplified by an artificial sweetness.. dries out the back of the palate with a bit of a grainy feel. Lighter-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation.. dry bitterness worked OK here.. watered down. All in all this was a little better than the score indicates. blipp (599), Grand Island, New York, USA Apr 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is light with notes of roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Medium body. Flavor is also very faint and similar to the aroma. Not bad, but a pretty weak stout. Borrrris (89), LINDENHURST, New York, USA Mar 26, 2008 BOTTLE: On first impression it seems promising, but those hopes are quickly dashed. Body is too thin, almost no roast character, little complexity, nonexistent finish. It looks like a Black and Tan, but on blindfolded taste test I wouldn’t guess it claimed to be one. Drinkable, but that’s about it. BUY AGAIN:Unlikely NJBeerman013 (569), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Jan 6, 2008 Bottle. This black and tan is probably one of my favorite bottled varieties. Smooth, creamy, malty, chocolatey. It’s everything that a good half and half should be.
