Brown red color with high carb head that disappeared quickly. Charred sweet, lactose scent. Somewhat sour chocolate taste with burnt flavor. Dry overly carbonated. Definitely would not get again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of cascading foam finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a black brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was mildly smoky musty soft hops and dark malt. The thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The thick lagerish flavor contained notes of mild smoke mild hops and black malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is black patent malt, nutty, some chocolate. Taste is nutty, semi-sweet, roasted malt. Has a dry finish. An ok beer.

Not particularly impressed with this beer. Has a nice appearance, but even the aroma is slightly off-putting, being somewhat sour. It is watery, but I’m a fan of wateriness in my black beers, with a slightly roasted character. Not particularly sweet either.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of roasted malt and licorice. Solid black. Lots of malt and nut flavors with a touch of toffee. Very drinkable with full feel. Suprisingly good.

Something to me is thrilling about getting the chance to try a Schwarzbier made by Pabst.

Dark brown, sorta black-ish, but certainly ruby hued when held up to the light. The head is medium sized, tight, and well retained. It’s a pretty glass of beer.

The aroma is brash, very concentrated on molasses with some tinny and vegetal characteristics up front that sort of fade into the background quickly. Roasty and at times ashy smelling, the beer is not wholly uninviting.

My goodness, the flavor is not much better... I didn’t have high hopes for this being wonderful, but I though it might be ok... It’s not really ok, the flavor is again brash but only lightly roasty, some unripe fruit, some molasses, some bit of bitterness, overall it’s sort of bland.

Pours dark black with a thick, white head. It has a sweet, malty aroma. The taste is of dry, burnt malt that is reminiscent of over-toasted bread. It has a thick mouthfeel, and the burnt-toast taste is predominant. No malt sweetness. Great black lager!
