Not a repeat IMO. Nothing remarkable in any of it’s character. It is a OK drink, but it is thin and doesn’t really reach out... at all.

The body has a dark brownish color with a slight reddish hue. There is some visible carbonation that flows up to the tall tan head. The head had very good retention and lacing. There is a lightly roasted character and sweet malted barley with just a hint of hops. The flavor has some slight roasted coffee notes with sweet bready and roasted malt notes. Hop flavor is light and brings some mineral/leafy notes to the finish. The finish is rather clean with roasted flavors and hop bitterness fading quickly. The palate is a smooth medium body with just the right amount of carbonation to help clean the palate.

hotstuff (4058) - Indiana, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Rated on 10-13-2010 (Bottle) This beer when poured displays a medium sized very, very fizzy tan head that mostly diminishes, semi-transparent/semi-opaque reddish brown body, fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt and caramel. The taste is lightly acidic, roasted malt and chocolate. The palate is smoth and thin. This is a light-medium bodied beer. This beer is easy to drink due to the thin texture. There is not a lot going on with this beer. It is one of those "take it or leave it" type of beer.

3/16/2010. From bottle. Poured black with a tan head. Roasted malt aromas with dark fruit and caramel. Very yeasty flavors which dominated too much. I didn’t really care for this one.

Bottle with keith. Poured dark brown with small white head. No lace. Lots of sweetness, roast, syrup, milk chocolate, soy sauce, tofee, and sugar full body. Doesn’t seem like a lager.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. Aroma is toffee, toasted malt and some light smoke. The flavor is similar with some roasted malt and chocolate, as well as a hint of sweetness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

10/06/2010: McSorley’s Irish Black Lager... Aroma: Cocoa and oats. Appearance: Really nice pour; deep chocolate brown color with a reddish hue; mostly opaque, ample carbonation; thick, dense, and long-lasting 2-finger head of tan-colored foam; thick lacing. Flavor: Dry, roasty malt; molasses in the middle with a slight sweetness; coffee-like/light char in the finish. Palate: Medium-full; thick and creamy, but extremely smooth; filling; feels nitro induced. Overall: Flavorful and enjoyable; under-rated.

12 fl. oz. bottle from Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #210 for this beer.

Tickers gotta tick I guess. This is as expected average watery lightly toasty lager without much going on. Some burnt hay and metal in there. Thin and meh.
