"Porter style Ale. Chocolate and beer! Are we Mad? We’d rather say passionate. We marry the soothing flavour of this complex malt barley grist with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a beer for your more self-indulgent moments. Great for lazy afternoons or long evenings, it is best served chilled with your feet up, watching the sun go down. Like we say – chilled."
"A silky-smooth suppertime beer, created using dark malts and chocolate. Pronounced vanilla notes fuse the chocolate and malts together to give a rich, warming, flavour that also works well as a complement to fruity desserts, summer puddings and autumn berries."

A clear dark brown colored beer, with a thick beige head. The aroma of smoke, chocolate, coffee malt. The taste is sparkling, dry, bitter chocolate, dark fruits like cherries and prunes. There is some smoke in the back. The aftertaste is long dry and bitter.

Black of color with a nice beige head. An aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, no sweets and weak bitter notes. A flavor of chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruits, coffee and weak sweets.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark brown/black with a medium tan head and a sweet chocolate- or mocca-like aroma with an almost sourish undertone. The taste is like a thick chocolate-pudding with cream, with hints of coffee with brown sugar, rhum, sour cherries, bitter malts and vanilla. The finish i s long and mildly bitter. A very nice beer!

33 cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark reddish brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of milk chocolate, sweet malts. Flavour is milk chocolate, light roasted malts and a some sourness from the carbonation. Light lingering bitterness. Medium bodied, smooth drinking. Suits the name, but there are better chocolate beers. Nice though.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a thick beige foamy head. Sweet and slightly acidic malty aroma with a fruity (cherry, redcurrant) touch and a distinctive dark chocolate praline character à la Mon Chéri. Bitter-sweet flavour with acidic fruity elements, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately roasted malty and fruity taste with pronounced notes of dark chocolate and lighter accents of coffee. Mildly sweet and roasty bitter finish with chocolaty and slightly sourish notes. A beer which is surely not made for my daily use, at most an interesting experience (16.II.09).

Bottled from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Dark brown coloured, brown head. Nose of roasted malts, chocolate. Sweet flavour, again chocolate, enough bitterness in finish to compensate the initial sweetness. Great velvety mouthfeel. Pleasant beer, i like it a lot more than Meantime’s Coffee-beer.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2009 Bottled: Dark brown color, huge foamy beige head. Sourly aroma with coffe and dark chocolate notes. Flavor is quite sourly, intensive coffee and some dark chocolate notes. Maybe this sourly style is the typical for this beer or a had some bad look with my bottled. All in all in this version i don’t like this beer.

Pours reddish brown with a huge, beige and fluffy textured head. Sweet chocolatey aroma has cady sugar, some roastedness and hops. The finish is quite chocolatey, a bit burned and quite bitter. Flavor is surprisingly bitter, slightly metallic, roasted and theres some sourness of cocoa beans. Palate is very carbonated and fizzy: it was hard to catch the aromas. Medium bodied. Not very well balanced: the finish is too burned and the chocolate is hiding somewhere. The lack of balance and the carbonation makse me woder, if I had a bad bottle.
