COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cold fermented and lagered. Only available in 330ml bottles.
"Porter style Ale. Chocolate and beer! Are we Mad? We’d rather say passionate. We marry the soothing flavour of this complex malt barley grist with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a beer for your more self-indulgent moments. Great for lazy afternoons or long evenings, it is best served chilled with your feet up, watching the sun go down. Like we say – chilled."
"A silky-smooth suppertime beer, created using dark malts and chocolate. Pronounced vanilla notes fuse the chocolate and malts together to give a rich, warming, flavour that also works well as a complement to fruity desserts, summer puddings and autumn berries."

Black, medium sized beige head. Chocolate aroma and flavour. A rather bitter chocolate compared to other chocolate bears (Youngs, Kjaerstrup etc.) with out vanilla-aromas. Smoke. Underlying malty sweetness. Good.

Little or no head. I didn’t know this was bottle fermented, and poured a bit too much into my glass. Oh, well. The colour is brown and barely opaque, very think and oil-like. Strong chocolate in the aroma, if you really shake the beer around. God, I sound professional. The yeast can be felt as well. Interesting tingle and bitterness, not far som Finnish sahti in the mouthfeel. Strong bitterness, and long finish of bitter chocolate.

DruncanVeasey (6950) - NUNEATON, Top 24, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - SEP 12, 2006
Black-brown body topped with circular clumps of froth and swimming with bits. Charred malt nose hinting at coffee and cocoa. Powerfully roasty black-coffee bitterness leaning towards Guinness Special Export, but barely a nibble of chocolate. Too much smoke and bitterness, and nothing like the bittersweet complexity I was hoping for.

Bottled. Dark brown in colour. Medium sized brown head. It has a nice aroma of burnt malt and chocolate with hints of coffee. there is a sweet flavour of burnt malt, chocolate and caramel are present as well. There is a sweet chocolate like aftertaste.

Bottled. Dark brown colour, brown mediumsized head. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and caramel in aroma. Flavour is strong roasted malts and barley along with toffee, black coffee and dark chocolate. Excellent brew and palate. Totally awesome!

Walnut brown pour with a raw sugar colored head. Milk chocolate aroma and a touch of caramelized sugar. The milk chocolate is gone from the flavor--this is rather dry, almost burnt toast like, dark chocolate. Dry, spritzy palate. A surprisingly refreshing beer. Like what dry stouts try to achieve, and most of the time, don’t. Interesting. Unique. I like it.

Bottled, alc. 6.5% (BB 05/2007). Hazy dark ruby color, good tan creamy head. Dry nose with cold coffee aroma. Starts quite watery and tasteless but in the aftertaste beautiful flavor of dark chocolate and cocoa. Coffee in the aftertaste. Hides ABV completely.

Bottle. Off-white lasting head. Black body. Choccolate aroma of course, not enough though the name considered. Unexpected bitterness in a bear I had expected to be sweet. Wonder if something is wrong with this. Just a faint flavor of choccolate, bitterness far too dominant.

Dark brown with a beige head. Peppery chocolate aroma. Sweet chocolate taste with malts and a little bitterness. Not bad.
