COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Avaialable in 330ml bottles only. Cold fermented and lagered.
May be known as Coffee Porter.
Our first formulation of this beer was the first UK brewed beer to carry the Fairtrade logo, and although we have reformulated it to create an even better blend better the malt and roast coffee flavours and can no longer get enough coffee in each bottle to qualify for Fairtrade status, we are still using the same Faitrade Araba Bourbon beans from Rwanda’s Abuhuzamugambi Co-operative. At the Meantime Brewing Co we love flavour, so it wasn’t exactly difficult for us to see how the scents and aromas of coffee and barley would create a perfect match like just like mint and lamb, toffee and banana, peaches and cream, peanut butter and jam. Serve lightly chilled with as many chocolate truffles as your conscience allows.

11.2oz bottle from Brick Spirits. Pours a thin clear dark brown color with a finger of pillowy light tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, peanuts, and ash. Taste of sour bitter coffee, toffee, chocolate malt, char, and vanilla beans.

Botella de 33 cl en el Lupulo. Septiembre de 2013. Cuerpo ligero y color negro muy bien equilibrada se bebe fácilmente quedando un gusto bastante agradable e intenso a café y malta tostada. Buena para repetir o como primera elección

Light translucent mahogany brown. Big coffee nose, seriously almost on par with bourbon county. Thin, coffee and toasted and caramel malt. Good, but one dimensional and thin for my taste.

Much better than expected...Not a huge fan of Meantime, but this is a solid coffee porter. It is creamy, smooth, and nicely laced with their fairtrade coffee.

Pours dark black with a hint of amber, small head. Burnt coffee, toffee and vanilla nose. Taste of big burnt coffee, which becomes bitter towards the end. Has some dark chocolate notes, mint, roasted malts and spice. Light mouth feel and feels watery.

Láhev 330 ml. Velmi příjemné, silné aroma pražené kávy. Pěna je lehce nahnědlé barvy, jemná, nízká a průměrně držící. Barva samotného piva je temně hnědá. Chuť má silný kávový střed, okraje připomínají slazenou černou kávu a to celé finišuje příjemnou kávovou hořkostí. Toto pivo má opravdu autentické kávové aspekty, je to velmi příjemná kombinace kávy a porteru.

330ml bottle into a nonic. Pours a very dark brown with a half finger thick tan head. Very good head retention with just some stringy lacing. Aroma has a fairly sharp metallic note, unfortunately, but underneath that, there are some milk chocolate notes along with a touch of light roast coffee. Some dark toffee and caramel as well. Not metal in the flavor, thankfully, and the chocolate/toffee notes are very nice. Coffee is present but is much more subdued than I was expecting. Caramel is in the background and a very light, delicate, hop character just lending enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. The mouthfeel is probably the best feature of this beer. It is silky smooth with plenty of body. Overall, a decent English Porter but way overpriced for what it is. I wish the coffee was a little more pronounced.
