Avaialable in 330ml bottles only. Cold fermented and lagered.
May be known as Coffee Porter.
Our first formulation of this beer was the first UK brewed beer to carry the Fairtrade logo, and although we have reformulated it to create an even better blend better the malt and roast coffee flavours and can no longer get enough coffee in each bottle to qualify for Fairtrade status, we are still using the same Faitrade Araba Bourbon beans from Rwanda’s Abuhuzamugambi Co-operative. At the Meantime Brewing Co we love flavour, so it wasn’t exactly difficult for us to see how the scents and aromas of coffee and barley would create a perfect match like just like mint and lamb, toffee and banana, peaches and cream, peanut butter and jam. Serve lightly chilled with as many chocolate truffles as your conscience allows.

Meantime Coffee Porter has a medium, beige head, a dark brown appearance, minimal lacing, and visible tan yeast chunks floating about. The aroma is of lime, turned or semi-rancid ale, and cheap, off-brand coffee. Taste is the same, with a unpleasant acidic bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and slimy, and Meantime Coffee Porter finishes semi-dry and sour. RJT

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe (£1.85): Great stuff from Meantime here, a very nice coffee porter that was full of flavour from the start with a lots of coffee present throughout, you wouldn’t really expect anything else though given the name. The beer proved an easy one to finish with a nice touch of bitterness right at the end to see things out.

deep dark mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy brownish head; aroma of coffee, some vanilla, toffee and ash notes; taste of coffee...and coffee...and some coffee, too - not really complex porter

Bold, dark, & beautiful! It pours nearly black w/ a big foamy head that slowly fizzles into a lot of lacing. The aroma is dominated by the coffee w/ a hint of dark chocolate. The taste is similar w/ the chocolate notes upfront followed by some roasted bitterness from the coffee in the finish. The mouthfeel is quite nice for everything that’s going on here. Lovely porter!

Bottle. Aroma plain roasted, light plum. Single-dimensional. Clear dark ruby-brown colour. Good head. Taste is spent coffee, roasted, slightly harsh, no astringency though. Average tasting to me. Overall a good beer though.

Pours a translucent dark brown with an off white head. Nice aroma with a strong malt flavor with a sweet aftertaste, very smooth mouthfeel. Nice English beer.
