Our first formulation of this beer was the first UK brewed beer to carry the Fairtrade logo, and although we have reformulated it to create an even better blend better the malt and roast coffee flavours and can no longer get enough coffee in each bottle to qualify for Fairtrade status, we are still using the same Faitrade Araba Bourbon beans from Rwanda’s Abuhuzamugambi Co-operative. At the Meantime Brewing Co we love flavour, so it wasn’t exactly difficult for us to see how the scents and aromas of coffee and barley would create a perfect match like just like mint and lamb, toffee and banana, peaches and cream, peanut butter and jam. Serve lightly chilled with as many chocolate truffles as your conscience allows.

Dark brown with medium beige head. Nice coffee aroma. Taste rich of coffee, starting with remarkable sour touch, balanced by some vanilla sweet, finishing with mild hoppy bitterness. Slight bitter aftertaste.

It has beautiful foam and a pleasant aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The taste is evident coffee, but the good rich black where the bitterness just marked without being astringency. In the background you will find little English licorice, while both malt and hops notes are tucked out of the way.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2015 Lovely coffee aroma with a bit of chocolate. Dark brown in glass. Pleasing coffee & malt flavour, astringency on dark malt in a good way for style. Bitter finish from malt/hops/coffee

Awesome coffee, chocolate, dark bread and roasted malts aroma. Dark brown color, clear, rather poor head. In taste it’s really great. It’s full of high quality coffee, cocoa and dark malt. There is no sourness from coffee. There are also ashy notes. It feels very light, very drinkable. Unfortunately it’s a bit over carbonated, which doesn’t match with a porter. But still, light bitterness gives this beer very pleasant aftertaste and good mouth feel. It’s definitely great beer. Hope SAB Miller will let them brew good beers like this one.

On the patio in scorching Florida sun , with Z...pours a dark brown pour with a clean Java head. Nose is mocha , coffee and deep malt. Taste is sweet, sugary coffee with malt, and rather light. Very easy drinkable porter with a dry finish and ending on the same sweet mocha, coffee notes. Pass TV dessert please ! Quaff Score 7 / 10

Bottle. Pours brown with a tan head and coffee filled aroma. Taste is light, of coffee, sweet vanilla notes, and roasted malt with a roasty finish and bitterness coming through with the coffee
