COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Avaialable in 330ml bottles only. Cold fermented and lagered.
May be known as Coffee Porter.
Our first formulation of this beer was the first UK brewed beer to carry the Fairtrade logo, and although we have reformulated it to create an even better blend better the malt and roast coffee flavours and can no longer get enough coffee in each bottle to qualify for Fairtrade status, we are still using the same Faitrade Araba Bourbon beans from Rwanda’s Abuhuzamugambi Co-operative. At the Meantime Brewing Co we love flavour, so it wasn’t exactly difficult for us to see how the scents and aromas of coffee and barley would create a perfect match like just like mint and lamb, toffee and banana, peaches and cream, peanut butter and jam. Serve lightly chilled with as many chocolate truffles as your conscience allows.

Cool little bottle poured into one of my many cheater pint glasses A: pours a deep mahogany color, almost purple looking. Thin puny little head with almost no retention. Some water watery looking in terms of viscosity. S: roasted black coffee, slight nut and fruit T: sweet on the palate for an instant, quickly pushed aside by black coffee. I sense a bit of dark fruit, perhaps plum. The alcohol of this one is warming. M: light to medium bodied, slightly acidic, not much carbonation to help it along. I would not want to drink more than one, don’t think it would pair well with food except for breakfast of dessert. O: what it lacks in appearance it makes up for in taste.

Sample pour of medium darkness with khaki head. Nose is fresh cracked malt, roasted and mild coffee. Flavor is similar, mostly roasted coffee and malted. Plenty of malt... I dig it

tmoreau (2310) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUL 15, 2014
2009, 11.2 oz. bottle, shared and poured to snifters, showing a darkest brown hue, with some ruby highlighting, and a light layer of off white/light tan foam that quickly reduced to a bubbly ring & light film, with light spots of lacing. The nose was roasted & sweet, with molasses & toffee notes. The body was a little less than medium, softly carbonated, with more coffee presence to the taste, low peppery bitterness, and some dryness to the finish. Tasty, and cellared well.

Bottle from Drink Baar, Tallinn. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is coffee, roasted malt, chocolate. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a dry earthy mineral bitter coffee palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

A brown body with a tan head. Nice retention and some lace. Aroma had a heavy roasted malt presence. Mild cocoa and some coffee. There was a slight astringent note to it. Flavor initially had a bitterness like stale coffee. It balanced out a bit with sweet chocolate malts. Slightly dry finish. Light mouth feel. Slightly disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.2fl oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep, ruby/brown with an off white, film of a head. Aroma is deep with smooth notes of coffee, and dark chocolate. Taste is balanced. Mild coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malts with a short, coffee bitter aftertaste. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a slightly dry finish. Very drinkable. Overall a great coffee porter. The coffee is there but not overdone like a lot of others. Very drinkable.

Geruch geht krass Richtung Zartbitterschokolade und Röstgerste. Im Geschmack leicht sauer, zusätzlich Aschegeschmack. Kaum Bitter. Schmeckt wie ein Aschenbecher.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2014 Pours a clear, ruby-tinted brown color with a tan head. Pungent, pleasant, freshly ground coffee aroma. Medium body. Wet texture. Coffee flavor up front, but bitters a bit too much and too quickly.
