May be known as Coffee Porter.
Our first formulation of this beer was the first UK brewed beer to carry the Fairtrade logo, and although we have reformulated it to create an even better blend better the malt and roast coffee flavours and can no longer get enough coffee in each bottle to qualify for Fairtrade status, we are still using the same Faitrade Araba Bourbon beans from Rwanda’s Abuhuzamugambi Co-operative. At the Meantime Brewing Co we love flavour, so it wasn’t exactly difficult for us to see how the scents and aromas of coffee and barley would create a perfect match like just like mint and lamb, toffee and banana, peaches and cream, peanut butter and jam. Serve lightly chilled with as many chocolate truffles as your conscience allows.

If I only had one choice to choose from for my cigar, without a doubt I would go with a Meantime. Amazing complexity combined with strong notes of coffee and chocolate.

As a whole, the English tend not to be as intense with coffee infusion as we are across the pond. While I love tasting lots of roasted bean in the glass, sometimes a lighter touch is good. Meantime’s Coffee Porter pours brown and shows a reddish hue when held to direct light. It has a lovely fresh coffee aroma that’s earthy, fruity, and (thanks to the Arabica Bourbon beans) a bit boozy. The coffee notes are more mild in the flavor but you won’t forget it’s there. The Porter base is extremely tasty, too. Some chocolate and vanilla flavors coming out of the roasted barley. Feel is rich and creamy. Hard to beat this as an after-dinner option.

Pours very dark brown with a big creamy and steady dark tan head. Rich aroma of coffee, toffee, cream, bread crust, prunes, a hint of raisins and spice. Taste: medium to high sweetness with light roasty acidity/bitterness. Medium body and carbonation, creamy texture, almost no stickiness. A very drinkable porter with a rich aroma and great looks!

Sweet aroma of coffee and raisins. Very carbonated with small bubbles of effervescent style. Dark brown color that’s a little translucent. Taste is a little watery upfront but a nice roasty aftertaste. Nice burn on the roof of your mouth. Bottle.
