3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle into pint glass; bottled on 9/6/2013, 6% ABV listed. Pours crystal clear very dark reddish brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, toast, cranberry, brown bread, light roast, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, and toast/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, cranberry, and fruity/earthy yeast ester notes; with decent strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, cranberry, toast, brown bread, light roast, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, and toast/yeast earthiness. Light fruity tartness/earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, cranberry, toast, brown bread, light roast, raisin, plum, fig, herbal, and toast/yeast earthiness on the finish fora short bit. Nice complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, cranberry, and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; with solid robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/acidic mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very solid fruited stout. Good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, cranberry, and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. I was expecting much more robustness from malt flavors for a 6% stout; but it was an enjoyable offering.

Bottle split with DiarmaidBHK - pours pitch with a white head. Iím getting plenty of the tart cranberries, but itís completely overwhelming the stout. Drinkable, but unbalanced.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Four Seasons wine and liquor. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Doesnít leave a lot of lacing. A bit of roasted malt on the nose. Not much on the tongue except some cranberry tartness. Finishes clean. Kind of boring especially considering the brewer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: More berry than Iíve ever smelled in a stout; almost reminds me of "foreign" stouts with high berry esters. The tartness from the cranberry is very apparent; chocolate/roast and other stout characteristics are muted, but present. Appearance: Pitch black with a skin of bone, patchy head. Flavor: Very tart cranberry with a chocolate/light roast background; a "wild" stout if you will. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: As others have noted, I wouldíve liked a little more malt background, but this was enjoyable nonetheless. Maybe the ultimate warm-weather stout.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
@ Hyde Park Wine and Spirits / Cincinnati OH --- Clear very dark ruby brown color, head drops quickly to a cover, dots of lace. Taste is light malt that cruises quickly through the palate to a sour cranberry finish. Pretty simple, almost a lambic in style. Not complex, but very drinkable.

Cerveja escura que possui aromas e sabores tostados e um gosto frutado, Šcido. … uma cerveja leve, que harmoniza com sobremesas de chocolate e frutas vermelhas. Interessante.

Sample at Buckeye Beer Engine on 3/22/14. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of cranberry and metal with a bit of roastiness. Malty and roasty flavor with tart cranberry before a roasty and metallic finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml corked and caged bottle, back label says 6% ABV. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours very dark brown with some ruby reddish tints and about an inch tan head. Head retention is decent, and thereís a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like cranberries, roasted malt, berries, and some chocolate. Itís a nice but light aroma. It tastes mostly like tart and sweet cranberries/berries, along with some chocolate, roasted malt, and a bit of wood. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, itís smooth and easy enough to drink. I thought it was a decent enough brew, but I guess I was just expecting this to be better. Still, itís worth a try if youíve never had it before.
