4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Superbeer (1) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2012 does not count
My favourite British pale lager. Very easy to drink. Lively carbonation with great hoppy palate (Hallertau, I suppose).

Half pint in the Greenwich Union, Meantime Breweries tap house: Light golden body, bright, clear and clean looking: a typical Helles/Pils/Lager in fact, even down to the thin white head that didn’t hang around for long.
Standard aroma of not much (from Helles/Pils/Lager): suggestions of floral hops and shortbread biscuits if I’m being kind.
Again nothing to push it above other Helles, light tasting blend of bland ingredients that give a mild hop/malt flavour which didn’t excite or interest me a great deal.
Carbonisation as you’d expect, giving it a pop/fizzy zing to it: maybe if it had been drank in a sunny beer garden in Munich instead of cold pub just outside London it might have faired better in the scoring, but I doubt it!

No noticeable scent. The taste is fresh and dry with a touch of malt and grassy hops. Reminiscent of a pilsner.

Don’t know about close to water but this is pretty close to urine in my mind - unpleasant from start to finish

Keg @ BrewDog Glasgow. "grainy brewery" aroma. Bright clear golden yellow colour. Grainy flavour. Sharp with sour aftertaste. A big tasting lager but it is not very nice.

On keg at The BrewDog Bar. Pours a light blonde colour with a lacy white head. Aroma and flavours of yeast, caramel and barley. Foamy mouth-feel. Good but not great.

Draught at Greenwich Union.
Malty, cereal nose with light grassy hops. Deep golden color with a fine head. Grainy, meaty bread in the mouth, not sweet. Dry, with good grassy hops and a touch of cardboard that takes away from it. Simple but clean and good.
