Very nice. Solid Porter style, with a great balancing hoppiness. Not too heavy. Very nice.

The aroma is very nice with toasted malt, coffee, wood, and chocolate. The appearance is light brown with a small tan head. The taste is like the aroma with a burnt finish. The palate is average. Overall an average beer at best.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a viscous dark brown/black with an enormous tan head. Aromas of some dark fruit, some roast, slight hazelnut, oak. Taste is similar - stone fruits, peaty smokiness, wood. Slightly roasty but more mellow that an impy stout. Alcohol is completely hidden. Jesus, this beer is truly a world class Baltic porter. Very nicely done.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
(Meantime Navel Collage Old Porter) Aroma of roasted malts, sweet meats, and a hint of smoke. Pours a deep blackish brown with no head or lacing. The taste is roasty with a strong peat smoke finish and aftertaste. Medium-full mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Overall, a very smokey scotch-like porter.

One of the best porters I’ve had in a while. Pours black with a creamy tan head. the aroma has some chocolate and coffee as does the flavor. Very well balanced with a velvety texture.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very dark brown with a beige head. Smells like chocolate, scotch, and toffee. Peat is very apparent along with dark, roasted cocoa and vanilla. Finishes dry, complementing the roasted flavors and peat.
The peat from the Bruichladdich barrels is almost overpowering on the first couple sips, but as your palate adjusts you notice how well it melds with the rest of the beer. Cellerable.

Nearly black in color with an off-white head. Notes of dark fruit, coffee, roasted malt, licorice, and molasses. A moderate sweetness, some light smoke, and a bit of chocolate. The flavor is a little bland, but still good. Chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, and coffee are the main flavors. More subtle molasses and licorice notes. Very faint smoke in the background.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark mahogany brown with a pillowy fading head. Smoking peaty whiskey nose and dark roasted malts and coffee. Noticeable iodine and sea air. Very reminiscent of the Ola Dubh line from Harvieston. Porter body isn’t watered down at all by the barrel treatment. Dark roast and caramel malt with very pleasant scotch characteristics. Gonna go get more while I can and try to cellar it if I can resist. Hope this makes it over here regularly. Good value.
