Meantime are Britain’s only brewers of authentic India Pale Ale. Small batch production allows us to apply the attention to detail and care we require to produce an authentic IPA especially for you. Pound upon pound of Fuggles & Goldings hops are needed to enable us to achieve the dry hopping rates necessary to recreate this great beer style. Enjoy with hot foods and spicy friends, or vice versa.

Pours deep amber with a small head. Sweet aroma of heavy malt with bold bready notes. Also resinous and earthy hops alongside some orange marmalade. Extremely malty flavours too, a bit like malt extract. Some earthy and resinous hops and more orange marmalade. A bit too sweet. Could use more carbonation.

750ml brown bottle, corked. Orange coloured brew with haze. Small whitish crown of creamy foam on top, good retention and heaps of excellent patchy lacework. Nose has some orange peels and caramel, a bit light in the aromatic department, what’s there is nice Taste has a caramel malt base, mid way through the beer has some floral honeyish sweet notes, then some orangey hop notes with trace spiciness. Finishes with earthy and citrusy notes, modest bitterness in the finish. The body is medium and the carbonation is very tight lending to a smooth mouthfeel. Drinks very easily for an IPA leaning toward the heavy abv end of the scale - not a sign of that 7.4%. Overall impressions of this beer are quite positive. I think I was expecting something more forceful in terms of hop aggression. It’s not a hop bomb, but the English hops work very well here. It may be a bit more subtle than I was expecting but I highly enjoyed it. Excellent visual presentation from the corked bottle to the label to the beer in the glass.

Split a 750ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden color with white head. Aroma was some earthy hop characters - EKG and Fuggles, with notes of sweet malts. Flavor was about the same - earthy hops, touch of floral notes. Drinkable, though no hop bomb if that’s what you’re looking for.

750ml bottle from Utobeer, Borough Market, London (£6.50):
Hoppy to begin with some sweetness following this and a touch of caramel and sweet malts. There is some floral touches and a few background fruits along with some plum and citrus. Towards the end I could detect some lighter fruits, herbal notes and a hint of biscuit malts.
Orange amber, a thumb sized, bubbly white head that holds pretty well. The beer is a clear too.
Fruit and light hops with some floral notes, lots of caramel and some sweet malts. There is some light earthy hops too and a touch of grapefruit plus some bitter pine.
Smooth, a medium body and a sweet, malty mouthfeel that goes down well. There is moderate carbonation and a nice, crisp and refreshing finish.

Quite hoppy but not overly bitter and with a solid caramel and sweet malt base that was very enjoyable.

gramity (1056) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 12, 2013
Golden orange colour with good white head. Aroma has some off putting hot alcohol but mostly earthy, spicy notes from the hops. This beer is really soft on the palete, with gentle carbonation. Good caramel malty grainy backbone with more of those earthy spicy hops. This beer finishs nice and dry with a lingering bitterness.

0,75L bottle. Good fryity, musty hop malt aroma. Quite rich flavor mix, but not perfect. Start is little sweet old banana what goes over sour musty rotten eggs or soy. Finish is nicely bitter, black plum. Alcohol taste coukd remain hide. Good and interesting!

Dull clarity, amber in color, fairly persistent head. A strong, sweet aroma of floral, herbal, citrus and resin hops. Taste was intense and bitter, with a bread backbone and strongly herbal hops.

Pours a hazy golden amber with a white foamy head and lacing. The aroma has lots of dark fruit and apricot and apple with some earth and spice notes. The flavor has dark fruit up front front with hoppy earth and spice notes along with a balanced sweet middle and dryer aftertaste over a medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2013 This beer and Punk IPA were some of the first american style IPA’s I tasted while living in London, England. Great beer from what I remembered and introduced me to the great scene of craft beers. Been a few years since i have last had one as I now live back in Canada. Have only ever seen Meantime Porter on sale over here. Would love to have a refreshing reminder of what Meantime IPA tastes like!
