Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Mar 22, 2008 Pours a lovely golden hazy hue with rich, long lasting sudsy head and doily lacing. Saison-like nose mingles a mellow farmy funk with grass and laurel leaf. Palate is perfect balance of softness and substantiality. Splendid melange of flavors that make it like a farmhouse IPA with dry and subtle bittering hop. Gorgeous. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA Mar 13, 2008 pours a cloudy dark yellow gold with a nice two finger fluffy off white head. aroma is malt, yeast, and hops with lemon, orange, and apples. has a medium body with good lacing and just the right amount of carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma. has a dry hop aftertaste but a little weird plastic taste and from the aroma. not bad i guess but i still prefer an American ipa. also has some sediment floating around. maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland Mar 8, 2008 floral/citrus on nosing
nice lokking beer with thick head and good lacing
funky pine-tar(baseball lingo) plastic tasting actually, that turns dry and uneven on the finishes, dont likey.
finish is like liking nickels. daniele (1642), Italy Mar 7, 2008 colore ambrato molto invitante schiuma poca e poco persistente sentori luppolato agrume e malto in bocca prima dolciastra e poi un taglio netto di luppolo aromatico sm89walt (433), Norwich, Norfolk, England Mar 2, 2008 75cl bottle. This IPA pours a crystal clear amber colour with a huge, fluffy off-white head to begin with, before it dissipates fairly rapidly to leave a few minute islands of carbonation floating aimlessly around the edge of the glass. It has perfumed toffee aromas, but it is predominantly a grassy hop nose with a pleasant grapefruit character. The flavours are nice and strong, once again of hops. This time, however, the hops on offer are in the piney, resiny spectrum with brief, intermittent appearances of orange. The finish has a bitter resiny quality about it that lasts long into the back of the throat, depositing the alcoholic strength of this IPA on the tongue, yet charmingly, not excessively. Subductively smooth and creamy mouthfeel; a winner all across the board. BigBen2120 (688), Derry, New Hampshire, USA Mar 1, 2008 750 ml caged and corked bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours a hazy yellow-orange body with a good inch of rocky off-white head that leaves some lacing and clings to the side of the glass. Smells citrusy, grassy, and herbal (if I had to guess, Fuggles?) Tastes citrusy (grapefruit, orange), grassy, sweet, with some caramel. Full, rich body, though not viscous by any means. Moderate carbonation, enough to leave a semi-clean finish. Wow, very tasty and dangerously drinkable. Far and away the very best example of the style (English IPA) that I have ever encountered. One of the best IPAs of any kind I’ve had. A bit pricey (9$/bottle), but well-worth the treat. evilsoc (191), Wales Feb 29, 2008 Pours hazy amber with a lasting white head. Sweet fruity aroma, some orange pith. Thick mouthfeel, a lot sweeter than expected. Cakey toffee malt and citrus hops, licorice, orange spice. The finish could do with being dryer. oreogobbler (217), Austin, Texas, USA Feb 26, 2008 Draught: Pours a cloudy golden yellow, filmy head and somewhat transparent. Lemon zest and fresh cut wood aroma. Some note of alcohol. Bitter pine and orange peal flavor, interesting hop finish. Palate is a little bitter on the tip of the tongue, but smooth from start to finish. Fantastic IPA.
