Bottle conditioned. Alsos available on keg.
Meantime are Britain's only brewers of authentic India Pale Ale. Small batch production allows us to apply the attention to detail and care we require to produce an authentic IPA especially for you. Pound upon pound of Fuggles & Goldings hops are needed to enable us to achieve the dry hopping rates necessary to recreate this great beer style. Enjoy with hot foods and spicy friends, or vice versa.

Nice bright coloured orange/bronze body with a thinnish tan head on top. Aroma of fresh hops, citrus, cardboard and a pungent alcohol scent. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong spicey hoppiness with a pungent bitterness and a mouth-drying maltiness. Aftertaste shows the bitterness of the hops, but some bright and fruity characteristics as well. Overall, a good IPA - no bad characteristics at all...great to try! I sampled this 75 cL bottle with Jon[r888710] purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 10-October-2005.

NIce pour, good head and lacing. Maybe I am used to being slammed in the face by the hops in American IPAs recently, but this one seemed gentle by comparison, which is not a bad thing. Subtle hops and flowers are present, bouyed well by quiet sweet and toasty malts. While different than expected, I rather enjoyed the departure from massive hop bitterness and liked the balance and structure provided by this brew. Not overly complex or overpowering, i enjoyed this balanced and very drinkable brew.

25 oz bottle, via my SS Winter 07, Magic_dave6. Pours a slightly hazy dark yellow gold body with a large fizzy soap sud like off-white head that slowly receded leaving lots of intricate lace. The nose is pretty tame and subtle, that signature English IPA hoppiness is in full effect. Somewhat grassy and leafy with some perfume like notes, some minimal biscuity and toasted malt behind the hops. Slightly citrusy and floral hops up front with a fairly light bready malt base. The flavor is just not as vibrant as what I was hoping for. The mouthfeel is the real killer for me though, it’s way too over carbonated right now, going to try and let this one breathe for a while to see if it settles down. You can almost taste the massive carbonation level on the slightly bitter finish, almost like quinine or seltzer water. Overall, this was one that I just wasn’t too impressed with. It’s one that I may want to revisit if I come across another.

Bottle. Hoppier than most British IPAs, but still lacking compared to the best of American IPAs. It has light but good hop flavor, decent aroma, but a little too light in the bitterness. It is a really solid Pale Ale, but in my opinion, not a great IPA. As with most British Ales, it is just a little too soft.

More hoppy than the regular British IPA, with Fuggles and Gouldings, a very drinkable pleasant IPA. Right there in balance. Good aroma, foamy head and lots of creamy lace.

750 ml. glass bottle- color of hazy orange, with a thick light cream colored head - nose of dried apricots, yeast, and stale ginger – taste of some hops, citrus (mostly grape fruit, and lemon/lime), and slight malt- body is medium , and with medium carbonation – aftertaste of resin, and some sweet malt

Average here. Don’t know what an ’authentic’ IPA is, but hopefully this isn’t it because it isn’t that good. Poured from a 750 mL bottle; aroma smells rank/rotten. Thought I would try due to a top 25 of the Year ranking from DRAFT. Very disappointing.
