Meantime are Britain’s only brewers of authentic India Pale Ale. Small batch production allows us to apply the attention to detail and care we require to produce an authentic IPA especially for you. Pound upon pound of Fuggles & Goldings hops are needed to enable us to achieve the dry hopping rates necessary to recreate this great beer style. Enjoy with hot foods and spicy friends, or vice versa.

London IPA in the original, 19th-century English style, a rare find nowadays with all those double and triple American-style IPAs. Snow white, mousse-like head, bright orange blonde colour. Aroma of orange, cardboard, peach, caramel, celery, apple, banana, all nicely perfumed with Fuggles and Kent Goldings. Fruity taste, apple, peach and orange, sweetish and soft with fluffy mouthfeel and agreeable malt base, finishing in a strong peppery hop bitterness, very well-balanced.

75cl shared bottle @ home from Flink Gegist, Delft, as a gift from Sanyi, many thanks! Hazy orange-copper color, medium off-white mostly lasting good lacing head. Aroma light caramel and light fruit in the nose, vegetables, roots, medium hoppy, herbs, light chocolate, slightly roasted malt. Taste medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. Medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, medium lasting bitter-sweet finish. Not the best IPA but interesting.

750 ml bottle bought at Waitrose in East Cowes. Pours out in hazy dirty amber colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of barley and amlt - quite strange for an IPA....Taste of barley, cake, bread, biscuits, light malt, raisins, MANY raisins and light flowers. More malty and barley-y than hoppy. If this would be a Barley Wine with a smoother body and little more ABV, I would really score it high. But as an IPA with no real hoppy notes and wkth no citrus/spruce hints I just don’t really fancy it.

Bottle from Waitrose, Cowes shared with McTapps. First nose was nothing, the second one offered a bit of cookies and some cereals. Bit unpleasant bitter end and high abv in the back. Taste full with a bit of caramel, chocolate and leaves. A good example for calling a beer full bodied.

Bottle obtained from Thibodeaux’s (downtown location). It felt appropriate as an American to have an English IPA as my 1776 beer review (haha, wink, sorry to the British to drink one and then pee it out, wink). Here goes. EIPA must be poured into a pint glass and it was. The appearance had a hazy dark golden yellow to orange color with a nice off-white-to white head. There was some light lacing here and there. The smell had some caramel, toffee and light citrus flavorings as it warms it comes across more so as oranges. Eventually, some light mint with an earthy booziness came across. The taste took the previously mentioned flavors and added a gentle rolling sticky pine underneath. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a slight sessionability about it. There’s a gentle harshness running about it - I mean its there, its just seems to be dampened a bit probably due to the involvement of the malts in this one. Overall, well, it fits the EIPA for the style, would I have it again? For the price $13 for a corked 22 ouncer? Nah, not worth it.

pours hazy medium dark golden with a nice off-white-orange head, good retention and nice lacing. caramel, toffee and oranges - sort of heavy sugary malts - barley sugar-like, very spicy - pepper and mint, bitter herbs, booze, gentle and welcoming earthiness along with soft pine needles. moderately low carbonation, light to medium body - oily and sticky, assertive if not slightly harsh earthy-spicy-piney finish. questionable drinkability. quite unique english ipa though.

Very pleasant summers evening beer. Proper unpastured IPA that leaves a real pleasant aftertaste. Though the 750ml bottle coukd do damage on a school night

Bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours a hazy orange golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor had sweeter malts, citrus, orange, some old hop character, light bitterness, dust, crackers, seems like this had been around for some time before I grabbed it.
