Optigon (561), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Feb 19, 2007 Pours amber with a light head. Pleasant lacing. Fair fruity, hop aroma. Moderate mouth feel. Lightly bitter and fruity hop flavor with a mildly sweet malt undertone. Rather citrusy. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 15, 2007 Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours cloudy orange with an off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet, citrus, alcohol, and bitter. One of the better IPA beers ive had. motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Feb 7, 2007 bottled. amber with a light head. big toffee and floral aroma. really prickly, traces of vanilla malt and pine, big bitter finish. classy stuff PhillyBeer2112 (2084), Orange Park, Florida, USA Feb 6, 2007 Very very pleasant. Nice grassy, herbal and hay hop aroma, seemed mostly Goldings but I’m not so great at discerning these English hops. Big golden orange color with a huge rocky stiff head. Easy palate, creamy mouthfeel, like fruitiness to otherwise bready malts, like an ale should have, and a solid whack of bitterness in the finish, but not strong. Could almost be a session ale despite the strength - definitely the whole bomber disappeared in 2 breaths! There was a slight tart astringency that began to detract some, especially as it warmed, which is unfortunate because it was otherwise pretty damned spot on. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 6, 2007 Bottle sampled with Beerded one. Pours an opague cloudy orange with a two finger thick fluffy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, and caramel malts. The flavor is sweet, citrus, orange peel, bitter hops, smooth, and a nice alcohol punch. Good body, Great brew. jimcook (14), Cathedral City, California, USA Feb 5, 2007 A little thin on the head, and in appearance in general. Flavors are well-balanced, with a surprising (though fairly faint) creaminess on the palate. A very drinkable beer. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Jan 31, 2007 Bottle. Weak grassy hop aroma. Perhaps a little plastic? Clear copper colour. Full-flavoured, sweet and hoppy. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Jan 30, 2007 Keg British... Keg head; orange coloured beer. Specific nose of hops, I’d even wager USA hops, even if they’re not, and "wet dog" aroma. Grapefruit and other bitterness(es). The liveliness of a cask has been replaced by little fizzyness, but nothing exaggerated. Actually, this is better than some of the poorer cask IPA’s. Light to medium bodied. It’s especially the finish & aftertaste that betray the kegging: not much going on anymore, if anything. Quite OK for a British IPA. Couldn’t vie for one moment with the better USA ones, though.
