tomciccateri (496), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA Dec 30, 2006 750ml bottle at Falling Rock - Denver. Nice hoppy flavor and malt/hop balance. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Dec 29, 2006 amber colored with beige head, the aroma is sweet and malty with a hint of caramel. bit grassy. the flavor is sweet and hoppy. RobBestwick (555), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England Dec 27, 2006 750ml bottle, highly hopped, spicy aroma, copper hue with an authentic frothy head, very spicy, lots of hops evident, a long bitter finish with a lemon twist, an excellent IPA. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Dec 21, 2006 Beautiful clean aroma of citrusy hop. Beautiful hazy apricot color with a finely bubbled white head. Starts with a hint of pepper submerged in citrus (but not grapefruit) hop, malt follows, and the smooth experience finishes with a decent, but respectable bitterness. There’s something different in the hop at the start and the hop at the finish. Something a bit Belgianish, like yeast? Or not. This is not a NW US hophead dream; it’s just really, really delicious. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Dec 21, 2006 Not as hoppy as I usually expect from an IPA. In fact, this one was rather sweet. It has a nice hop balance and an interestingly buttery mouth feel. The aftertaste of the hops, however, does linger for a long time. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Dec 18, 2006 Nice hazy orange-gold pour with a thick squatty head. Aroma is mostly orange-citrus hops and sugary sweetness. Extremely smooth taste of the same citrusy hops, with some Granny Smith apple-like aftertaste mixed with a solid malt back. Some soapiness as others have pointed out, but overall, a really good beer. rw4244 (128), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Dec 17, 2006 Bottle 75cl. Poured a hazy thick orange with copper tones, and a large thick white head which lasts the whole drink. Sweet aroma with hints of orange, hops and a little malt. Peppery floral flavour of hops and orange, slick and oily in the palate, finishing in a bitter, metallic aftertaste, perhaps a liitle astringent but understandable due to the high alcohol content. Tasty pale ale, especially good with food. larsga (2937), Oslo, Norway Dec 15, 2006 Big offwhite head. Deep orange body full of small yeast particles. Subtle, sweetish light peppery metal hop aroma with spice notes with notes of pine needles and stale hops. Sourish intense bitter taste of resin, pine needles, and citrus with dry, citric finish. Faintly medicinal tinge. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Excellent, if challenging. (0.75l bottle.)
