In mouth, very oxidized cardboard malt with light hops.Medium bodied. Disappointing IPA. Bought at Knightley Spirits, Jan. 2006. Post-Mondial tasting at Goldorak. noelcb (271), Toledo, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2006 Color is medium amber, crystal clear, with a quickly-dissipating head and some decent lace. Aromas are floral hops, biscuit, vanilla, sweet berries, apple, alcohol, banana, pineapple, sweet grass, malt and caramel. Tastes sweet but not fruity, with malt sugar and grapes, madeira, moderately bitter metallic and herbal hops, earth, caramel and bitter citrus. Semi-dry finish with a lasting hop impression. Excellent mouthfeel, clean and refreshing, slightly oily. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Another excellent beer from Meantime who in the past have often failed to impress me. Golden appearance and lively on pouring with an impressive medium sized head.A hoppy quite sharp bitterness, not as smooth as some IPA,s.
Finish is quite dry and it left no lacing.
Both this and the excellent London Porter were obtained from Sainsburys.
A big thumbs up for them bringing such excellent beers to shelves stacked with Euro fizz.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Clear amber body with lotsa floaties, large head, decent lacing. Aroma has spicy, floral, citrusy and grapefruity hops with light caramel. Pretty bitter for an English IPA, although I’ve only had a few. The hops dance on the tongue with some late alcohol burn. I picked this up because it was new inventory at the local beer store, I am nicely surprised. greenmanalishi (298), Leicestershire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Updated: Jan 18, 2007750ml bottle. Pours reddish amber, medium head. Fantastic hoppy, earthy, apple aroma. Initial citric, spicy flavour transforms into a woody, dry, bitter finish. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 20, 2006 Bottle. Clear orange colour with a slim white head. Nice hoppy aroma with spices and citrus fruit. Nice hoppy and citrus taste with balancing sweet malts. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, dry and nicely bitter in the finish. Excellent. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Clear golden to orange color once the sediment settles to the bottom. Nice long lasting white head. Aroma has an appealing hop spice and orange-ish smell. Interesting taste. Sweet malts combine to even out the initially bitter grapefruit hop flavor. Then midway the taste turns more orange in flavor. The body is medium and the finish is mild. It leaves a slight malt and sweet orange taste. Really nice IPA. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2006 From a caged cork 750 ml. dark green bottle with blurbs on both the front and back labels, a coded bottling/lot number on the neck of bottle.
Made a good appearance, poured a hazy reddish orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, moderate and even carbonation overall.
Had a nice English hoppy nose, pithy lemon, resiny and tropical fruity with a light sweet sugary maltiness at the back edges.
A crisp, dryish hop texture and smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability.
Caramelized sugary maltiness with only light touches of butter, a tasty hoppiness, lemony, softly spicy, a subtle cedar woody, resiny as well, a nice tropical fruitiness, the bitterness is gentle and rolling on the tongue, softly numbing, and a dry lemony, with an submissive sweet maltiness, finish. A dry leafiness lingers a bit in the palate.
A very English IPA from Meantime, a must try for fans of IPA’s.
