SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Mar 29, 2009 freebie from stu .. .opened with no sound, no sound at all .. . big head on the pour but it sad .. .almost no carbonation .. . quite alcoholic .. big british pub feel .. like cask but without all the fun things cask ale offer .. weird balance issues... darn1207 (528), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Mar 27, 2009 750ml bottle. hazy yellow pour with a big white head. aroma of pine, flowers and earthy fruits. bitter hop taste with lemon, spices and a honey vibe. dry bitter finish. good medium texture. good well balanced brew. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 19, 2009 Pours a clear yellow golden with a medium fizzy white head that fades fast. Aroma is diacytel and fruity hops. Flavor is quite odd, hint of tartness, lots of diacytel, toffee, fruity hops, somewhat medicinal, butterscotch, ever so sour, and lightly spicy. Medium-light bodied with crisp carbonation. Eh... I like butter on my popcorn... not in my beer. wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Mar 19, 2009 Bottle, Sainsbo’s, Taplow. Amber colour with an off white head that sat and kicked back for a while. .Fragrant hop aroma. Decent full mouthfeel. Flavour was hop heavy with grapefruit and some sweet caramel malt too. Finished dry and quite herby with some persistent citrus hop.
Good stuff. joe19612 (673), camberley, Surrey, England Mar 15, 2009 750ml bottle Pours a lovely orange colour beer with medium white head. Aromas of grapefruit and citrus hops rise from the glass. The flavour is quite bitter and carries the grapefruit flavor throughout. A well crafted beer. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Mar 10, 2009 Small bottle. Pours copper and hazy with a white head. Smells of hay, wildflowers, perfumy. Tastes citrussy and grassy with an earthy finish. Well balanced and enjoyable. jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Feb 28, 2009 Bottle@Home. Grassy, herbal and light fruity aroma. Light amber colour, white firm head, good lace. Light sweet, very bitter, malty, very grassy finish, hint of grapefruit. Sticky, dry finish, warming. Flavourful and nice balance. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Feb 24, 2009 (330 ml bottle from Belfast Co-op) Pours lightly hazy light golden amber with a tall frothy off white head. Light aroma of candyish malt - little if any hops. Mouthfeel medium-full, lightly pebbly but fairly smooth. Lots of foamy, patchy lacing. Flavor is just about the sweetest, malt-forward IPA I can remember. Sugary caramel and rock candy to the point it almost seems granular. As it warms finally some hops sneak through toward the finish, perhaps lightly fruity and providing a light bitter pinch. Tasty and enjoyable but strange for an IPA.
