BeerNeedy (60), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Feb 23, 2009 11.5 oz bottle - Aroma was not remarkable. Poured a hazy golden copper with a medium small head. The ale had good flavor but finished with a biting carbonation that just didn’t seem right somehow. In the Meantime I’ll be drinking something else. bierkoning (5989), La Tropica, Netherlands Feb 19, 2009 Corked bottle. Orange blonde color, pours a big head. Grassy, citric slightly perfumed aroma. Malty, grassy citric flavor. Hints of caramel and plastic. Firmly hopped with British hops which give this beer a distinct character compared with American IPA’s .Interesting beer. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Feb 15, 2009 Almost clear honey colored with a nice off white head that is thick and long lasting. Heavy lacing. Nose is citrus and floral. First whiff is pretty big but it soon fades. A very nice feel is thick and smooth. This IPA is well balanced with sweet caramel and hops that are pine and floral. Some spice late. This beer comes across as delicate with soft features. Peach, apple, and nectarine add to that. This beer has a feminine attitude. It is soft, delicate, sassy, complex, with an understated power. Nice looking, too. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Feb 14, 2009 Bottle in London. Rich orange body with medium head. Hoppy nose. Sweet hoppy and fruity flavour. Some malt in the taste too. Nice sweet finish. faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Feb 10, 2009 Botella, bought at Spisekrogen, Birkerød. Hazy orange colour with a medium white head. Soft hoppy and malty bit herbal aroma. Sweet malty and nicely hoppy flavour. Soft well lasting hoppy bit sweet finish. Different IPA with the goldings hops. plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Feb 8, 2009 Bottle shared by faroeviking. Dusty deep golden colour with a big thick creamy off-white head. Very malty aroma with the typical british hoppy notes. More hopier than usual British IPA’s. Flavour is pine, caramel, malt, fresh fruit, grapefruit and some peach. Long hoppy finish. Pinball (2693), Allerød, Denmark Feb 7, 2009 bottle shared by faroeviking.
cloudy dark orange, thick offwhite head.
nice strong hpooy aroma
flavor of pine, sweet, bitter hoppy. Gary (352), Buckinghamshire, England Feb 5, 2009 Updated: May 8, 2009750ml :Corked. Maybe not a’ hop-head’s’ beer, but still a very good ale for people who can dig English hops: They give you a long winded blurb on the bottle about the history of IPA , and how legit this is to stuff exported to troopers. Its the best interpretation ive had of an old skool IPA from a UK beer.I don’t like when limp 4% bitters call themselves IPA for street creed. A bunch of floral , spicy hops & pretty dry.I got malty caramel in there. And I also got butterscotch in the finish .Very real & nice to drink.
