Pour a translucent golden amber with a medium off white bubbly head. Aroma was kind of spicy, fruity, sweet malts and some caramel. Flavor was earthy, a bit floral, some citrus and caramel malt. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 8, 2007 A nice pop as I pull the champagne cork, lovely smell of hops. Pours a cloudy amber with a rather large head. A splendid beer, full of fresh citus fruit, lime with a hint of apricot. Soft and smooth. The label says is has some wheat malt, which explains the head. Fuggles and Goldings hops give more fruitiness than bitterness, but it is bitter enough to give a refreshing twist in the tail. A little warming is the only sign of the alcohol.
I like the "unfiltered and not primed with new yeast" ideology, too!
My only objection iws the weight of the bottle, this is a bit much to drag around! TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 11, 2006 Bottle - corked and caged. Pours a clouded orange-amber with a small whitish head. Nose is sort of faint. Light flowery hops, slight citrusy notes, light caramel, and light spice. Taste is a bit better. Slightly spicy hoppiness, touch of caramel, citrus fruits, and flowery notes. Body is creamy and a touch undercarbonated. Light-medium overall feel. Finishes with more citrus notes, light spicy hops, flowers, sweet malts, and caramel. It ends a bit on the thinned side, flavor-wise. Not bad, but nothing extraordinary. RichardGretton (3166), Leicestershire, England

The aroma is well hopped and dry, and the flavour is very bitter and well hopped. Overall a nice deeply hopped and dry beer. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Murky, lightl orange colored pour with a fluffy, creamy white head with excellent lacing. Ripening fruit aroma, very pleasant. Clean, sprucey flavor, some grapefruity citrus notes - not tonge-numbing though. Some maple syrup sweetness provides some good balance. Overall, very clean, crisp and satisfying. hughie (3090), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Shared with Bartzilla, Naven, BikesandBeer and others. Not bad but pretty hard to decipher this late in the game. Tasty certainly, tons more flavor than the BIG DIPA but could be better. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Dark golden colored with cloudy appearance. Medium sized yellow head. Fine fruity aroma with rich british hops, sweet caramel, berries and some aromatic notes and honey also present. Medium bodied. Flavor is surprisingly sweet with strong added sugar note, this sweetness distracts a lot. Mild hops in aftertaste.
