Big thanks to the U.S. guys from our Michigan Fest trip 2006 for sending us home with this bottle. Shared with the regular crew including MDS. Deep orange, foamy white head. Nice aroma: lots of malt and booze and hops. Nice taste - very spicy, lots of hops. Taste much stronger than it actually is. Sweet caramel finish. Very good.

Bottle: Courtesy of beeryum. Aroma has is loaded with grain and a light citrus barely sneaks by. No hops in the aroma. Pours a transparent orange with some very fine sediment. Moderate soapy white head that lasts a minute or so. Lots of grain flavors up front. Hints of fruit in the middle. Light flowery hoppiness and a touch of citrus in the finish. Not a fan of the big grain presence in this IPA.

$8.50 for a 750 of this. Ouch! The beer pours to an orange/copper body with a fully lasting creamy white head. Oranges and caramel malts. Light floral hops. Too light on the aroma. The flavor is light and balanced. Not very bitter. Sweet caramelly malts. Light pear fruitiness. The palate is medium-light bodied, not very bitter, and slick. I am disappointed.

Had a floral aroma along with some pine aroma as well. Copper colored body with an off white head that lasted thoughout beer. Good Lacing on glass. Flavor was a medium bodied citrus hop that left a dry palate. Decent brew.

25 oz bottle, via my SS Winter 07, Magic_dave6. Pours a slightly hazy dark yellow gold body with a large fizzy soap sud like off-white head that slowly receded leaving lots of intricate lace. The nose is pretty tame and subtle, that signature English IPA hoppiness is in full effect. Somewhat grassy and leafy with some perfume like notes, some minimal biscuity and toasted malt behind the hops. Slightly citrusy and floral hops up front with a fairly light bready malt base. The flavor is just not as vibrant as what I was hoping for. The mouthfeel is the real killer for me though, it’s way too over carbonated right now, going to try and let this one breathe for a while to see if it settles down. You can almost taste the massive carbonation level on the slightly bitter finish, almost like quinine or seltzer water. Overall, this was one that I just wasn’t too impressed with. It’s one that I may want to revisit if I come across another.

Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc, tupalev & mds - courtesy of some of the Michigan RB crew. Slightly hazy orange with a wee head. Aroma of mellow hops, orange, caramel, yeast and peppery booze. Soft mouthfeel. Flavour is very nice, with caramel malt, notes of spice and citrus, and a dry, slightly astringent finish. Very nice stuff that reminded me a bit of Burton Bridge Empire Ale.

Nice bright coloured orange/bronze body with a thinnish tan head on top. Aroma of fresh hops, citrus, cardboard and a pungent alcohol scent. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong spicey hoppiness with a pungent bitterness and a mouth-drying maltiness. Aftertaste shows the bitterness of the hops, but some bright and fruity characteristics as well. Overall, a good IPA - no bad characteristics at all...great to try! I sampled this 75 cL bottle with Jon[r888710] purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 10-October-2005.

750mL bottle, courtesy of wickedpete. Thanks, Pete! Pours a murky, darkened yellow color; thin off-white head with decent lacing. Solid amounts of citrus and earthy hops in the aroma; a bit too overripe and astringent for my tastes. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: rough citrus and resiny earthy hops; lots of crystal malts and sugar under everything; kind of fishy in the aroma and the mouthfeel, actually; kind of an odd hop character: British, but not overly biscuity. Medium finish, showing breadiness and toast and earthy hops.
