| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2008 hazy golden copper ale, nice frothy head that likes to linger for awhile; floral, low acidity citrus aroma; somewhat chunky palate that doesn’t cloy, but knows it has a lot; the flavor is alright, with a dirty mineral water quality--not bad, actually quite good, but not what i want in my West Coast IPA :o) eboats (901), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Pours orange with a soapy looking white head. Aroma is citrus rinds: orange and grapefruit, and miller lite. Flavor is floral hops with a dry bitter finish. Body is a little light. Very unimpressive. Wouldn’t buy again. dkoonce (899), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 18, 2008 Cloudy gold, with an extremely thick white head. Very sweet and heavy, with much less bitter hops than expected. Although this seems not to be true to the style, it was quite enjoyable. illidurit (898), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Poured into a nonic. Hazy gamboge color with a beige head of just over an inch. No lacing but above-average retention.
Nose isn’t very strong but I get an odd note that strikes me as very similar to bay laurel. Obviously a hop-induced aroma but not one I’ve ever inhaled before.
Flavor starts out with the same note, but it’s easier to taste the nuances than to smell them. It’s quite lemony with some pepperiness that lingers as the hops fade to toffee malt. The balance here is typically British. Low bitterness, lots of earthiness.
Mouthfeel is smooth and soft, booze is unapparent, body is a shade under medium thickness. Taverner (892), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Bottle conditioned. They don’t hide their alcohol that well in the aroma - it smells like a doctors office. Having said that, the flavor is nice and sweet - with some good hop notes. Upon pouring the thing went into foam overdrive - but poured golden copper with biscuit head. They must have put too much bottle conditioning yeast in it. The nose is alcohol and grassy hops. They need to calm down the alcohol in this one - its pretty invasive. Otherwise it’s a pretty standard Euro IPA. Naven (883), Poway, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2007 I haven’t been too impressed with Meantime’s beers, but this was actually pretty good. Sometimes it’s nice to have a more traditional IPA that is high gravity but not syrupy and overly hopped. This is a drinkable yet unremarkable IPA. drpimento (883), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Wow! Great beer! Got this 750 ml cork finished bottle in Miami Beach a couple months ago. Poured with a big foamy frothy head and some lace. Hazy medium amber color. Nose was grassy, citrusy, a bit hoppy and malty. Nice and bitter on the tongue in the mouth that perfectly goes with the champagne carbonation. Great mouthfeel. Excellent beer. Nice change of pace from the amped American IPAs. A bit boozy warmth there. Good burps too. Finish leaves me smiling. Wot a beer. Wish I had more. glennmastrange (870), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2007 Bottle. This beer poured to a creamy head which lasted only a short while. The color was a hazy amber with tiny particles. Aroma was of grass and lemon and a bit of grape and apple. Taste was fairly bitter right off, and in the long finish. Texture was mostly watery and fizzy and ended up chalky and astringent. Not great, but not horrible either.
