The nose is woody with a spicy orange and grassy noble hop forward character. The flavor is strong with carbonation with a light caramel and malt note. Subtle hop flavors, more about the twang than the thang. Not worth the price IMO. chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Updated: Mar 14, 2006On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green. Clean, coppery colour with a scant off-white head. Dry and fairly hoppy. There’s lots of lemony citrus here but it also heads in the earthy, dusty UK hop direction (as one might expect from the ingredients), not the resinous US style. So I guess it must be an authentic British IPA. Rather smooth and not as assertive as a modern US IPA. Which is not a criticism, just an observation. But I think I would have preferred something a bit more aromatic. Still a classy beer and full marks to Meantime for accepting the challenge.

The aroma is resiny hops with a little wood and a little soapiness. The taste is very good bittering hops. Tasty and a very long finish. Not really the best types of hop for this type of beer but a really good beeer and it’s an English brewer!! leaparsons (4759), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2006 Bottle. Amber/gold with an off-white head. Aromas are lemon and tea with dry biscuit and lots of peppery, yet not so bitter, hops. Quite earthy. Flavours are dry biscuit and tea with vanilla and cream notes. Also has apple and pear fruitiness with citrus coming through towards the finish. Very hoppy but not especially bitter or aggressive, which is welcome to be honest. Hops are slightly sweet and earthy with lots of pepper. Prickly on the finish with a fairly long aftertaste. Very nice. ChristianScheffel (4689), Odense, Denmark
