COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned. Also available on keg (filtered but not pasteurised).
Meantime are Britain’s only brewers of authentic India Pale Ale. Small batch production allows us to apply the attention to detail and care we require to produce an authentic IPA especially for you. Pound upon pound of Fuggles & Goldings hops are needed to enable us to achieve the dry hopping rates necessary to recreate this great beer style. Enjoy with hot foods and spicy friends, or vice versa.

750ml bottle from Waitrose. Clear amber. Thick, fairly dense, lasting, white head. Sweet, biscuit malt. Some pear drop. Nice jamminess to it. Taste is fusty sweet, with a dry edge. Decently balanced bitterness. Palate is light oily, with mouth filling, soft carbonation. Most of any bitterness comes at the end. Tasty stuff. Lots of layers. Best Meantime I’ve had.

This is a splendid IPA, but is decidedly not a West Coast or American IPA. Much more balanced and nuanced, and dare I say even malt centric? Nevertheless, the hops are in abundance -- pine and resin primarily -- and there is sufficient bitterness at the end.

Had this one at the 4th annual Lititz cask beer festival. This one is dry hopped with Golding and Fuggles.

A - Pours pale orange with a small film of white head leaving little to no lace down the glass.

S - Smells of dulled hops, light citric rind, and some very light sweetness. This one is pretty dull if I am being honest but it did get a little better as it sat in my glass...

T - Starts off with a moderate hop bite quickly giving way to a mix of light fruit and dulled sweetness. Around the middle of the glass I began to pick up quite a bit of vegetal flavors that really threw me off and I had a hard time finishing my glass.

M - Medium-Light body and flavor with moderately low carbonation. Pretty nice feel throughout, a bit thin toward the end, with little to no of the 7.5% detectable.

O - I am not sure what happened with this one. I think I may have gotten a pour from the bottom of the cask. Oh well, I enjoyed it for what it was but I doubt I would seek it out again.

On tap at Il Santo Bevitore, Venice. Nice clear amber-orange with a frothy white head. The aroma is caramel, biscuit, peach and apricot. Flavour is fairly sweet malt, smooth, apricot and peach, pine, some earthy notes. Balanced if somewhat simple. Good stuff.

London IPA in the original, 19th-century English style, a rare find nowadays with all those double and triple American-style IPAs. Snow white, mousse-like head, bright orange blonde colour. Aroma of orange, cardboard, peach, caramel, celery, apple, banana, all nicely perfumed with Fuggles and Kent Goldings. Fruity taste, apple, peach and orange, sweetish and soft with fluffy mouthfeel and agreeable malt base, finishing in a strong peppery hop bitterness, very well-balanced.

75cl shared bottle @ home from Flink Gegist, Delft, as a gift from Sanyi, many thanks! Hazy orange-copper color, medium off-white mostly lasting good lacing head. Aroma light caramel and light fruit in the nose, vegetables, roots, medium hoppy, herbs, light chocolate, slightly roasted malt. Taste medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. Medium body, oily feel, average carbonation, medium lasting bitter-sweet finish. Not the best IPA but interesting.

750 ml bottle bought at Waitrose in East Cowes. Pours out in hazy dirty amber colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of barley and amlt - quite strange for an IPA....Taste of barley, cake, bread, biscuits, light malt, raisins, MANY raisins and light flowers. More malty and barley-y than hoppy. If this would be a Barley Wine with a smoother body and little more ABV, I would really score it high. But as an IPA with no real hoppy notes and wkth no citrus/spruce hints I just don’t really fancy it.

Bottle from Waitrose, Cowes shared with McTapps. First nose was nothing, the second one offered a bit of cookies and some cereals. Bit unpleasant bitter end and high abv in the back. Taste full with a bit of caramel, chocolate and leaves. A good example for calling a beer full bodied.
