Bottle and keg - force carbonated. Is available cask conditioned. Cold fermented and lagered.
Ingredients: Pale ale malt, pale crystal malt, and Munich malt: Cascade, Cluster, and Goldings hops.

One hundred and fifty years ago the new bitter beer style, Pale Ale, was so popular that brewers had to import Californian hops to meet demand. Meantime London Pale Ale continues that tradition by combining lots of American Cascade and Centennial hops to give it a complex citrus aroma and buckets full of local Kentish Goldings to provide the bitterness that makes the style so refreshing. Together they conspire to assail the nose with a complex, heady mix of spearmint, grass and ‘hop sack’ aromas, fruity citrus flavours and a bitter finish that makes pale ale drinking a truly rewarding experience.

330ml bottle pours a clear dark gold with a white head. Aroma, grapefruit, yeast, grains. Taste, modest sweetness, subdued bitterness. Refreshing mainstream pale ale.

Gift from a friend. Yeasty ale aroma. Cellar, apples, honey. Nice orangey amber color. Head runs away pretty quickly. Light malt character with the faintest hops flavor at the back of the mouth. A nice little pub ale. Crisp and balanced but a bit empty. Not really my thing.

330ml bottle. Clear golden orange colour with a small creamy white head, which thins but leaves lacing. Aroma is citrusy hops, kind of orangey, a little malty. Taste is hoppy, orange citrus, malts. Flavours are a bit more subdued than is typical but quite nice.

Bottle at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) Pours a clear pale amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, some toasted malts, subtle orange, a little lemon and grassy, floral hops. Taste of toasted malts, some caramel, maybe cereal, subtle orange and grassy, floral hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A short, dry, floral hop bitterness in the finish. Meantime said that this contains lots of American hops but it’s quite overrun by toasted malts with a short hoppy burst near the end. Disappointed.

- Similar to the IPA: high-register nose, with orange-y scent - albeit this one is more like a West Coast IPA in nose (more citrus, Cascade hops). That said, a little bit of washing up liquid on the nose. - Overall, a bit too pale in flavour.

Bottle, 33cl. Pours with a golden colour under a foamy white head. Hoppy aroma with raisins and plum, quite nice and enticing. The flavours are well-rounded, somewhat fruity with pomegranate-like notes, not too malty. Mild to medium body, texture is oily and finish on the long side.
