COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle and keg - force carbonated. Is available cask conditioned. Cold fermented and lagered.
Ingredients: Pale ale malt, pale crystal malt, and Munich malt: Cascade, Cluster, and Goldings hops.

One hundred and fifty years ago the new bitter beer style, Pale Ale, was so popular that brewers had to import Californian hops to meet demand. Meantime London Pale Ale continues that tradition by combining lots of American Cascade and Centennial hops to give it a complex citrus aroma and buckets full of local Kentish Goldings to provide the bitterness that makes the style so refreshing. Together they conspire to assail the nose with a complex, heady mix of spearmint, grass and ‘hop sack’ aromas, fruity citrus flavours and a bitter finish that makes pale ale drinking a truly rewarding experience.

Draught pint at The Wellington, Covent Garden on 19/02/15. Clear amber colour. Lightly hopped, some citrus and malt in the aroma. Medium carbonation. Bitter, light fruit and dry. Easy to drink. OK but not great.

Draft, served far too cold and recorded from notes. Taste is soapy, light floral, slight medicine, chalky middle, then gently bitter. Bought as the best of a bad bunch waiting for a friend, it’s a middling beer from the ubiquitous kings of the average.

Botella de 33 cl en el momento el 31-01-2015. cosa floja con sabores y aromas ligeros, algo afrutados y con un amargo ligero final. Cuerpo ligero a medio bastante fácil de beber. Para quitar la sed

Aroma has some lager malts and is a bit bland. Pours clear golden with a medium white head. Taste is nice and fresh, subtle hopiness with a sweet touch of malts. Palate is stray and a little oily. Overall a nice surprise, a low ABV with a nice taste.

Moderately hopped to let some malt flavours through but not as bitter as it's big brother IPA. Some sweetness & effervescence. An decidedly average beer. Rated by BrewTom

In bottle. Golden amber. White rocky head. A bit cloudy. Not very persistent and intense, at nose and in the mouth. Honey, biscuit, lemon, orange peel, grassy. Good carbonation. Sweet in the entry and the bitter is not persistent and intense.

Drank bottled in LA Salle Bar in Heathrow Terminal 2. More lager taste than Pale Ale but nice and refreshing all the same! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
