Commercial Description:
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

Nice looking pour with dark, almost opaque, liquid and a 2 inch tan, frothy head, that lasts 5 minutes or longer. The aroma is strong coffee, cocoa, and dark wood. The taste is zippy, full, very malty, and little coffee, and dark fruit. The texture is surprisingly thicker than most porters and quite carbonated. This detracts from the appeal of this brew measureably, but what it lacks in mouthfeel it makes up for in flavor. The finish is active, but clean and agreeable. The beer is much better when drank with the head, than when it goes away.

Berry malt aroma through thick foamy head. Clear dark brown colour with overprimed frothy head. Bitter malt burnt fmokey flavour. Fizzy palate.

Bottle courtesy Ibrew2or3. Thanks Dave. Pours out a dark brown with red highlights, topped by a 2 finger thick dark tan head. Decent retention and some nice lacing. Nose of coffee beans, charred malts, caramel, chocolate and molasses. Flavor tends more towards the chocolate and coffee, but is a bit weaker than the aroma. Medium bodied, pretty perfect for the style, could use a little more heft, but other than that, it’s golden in this department. Finish is lengthy, charred notes folding into a sweet chocolate and roasty coffee finish. Overall a good beer, but a notch or two below world class efforts in the style.

An odd porter (like the IPA). A low ABV, but strong taste of alcohol. Almost stated like an aged barley wine.

Red brown colour. Soft coffey and malty taste. Some sourness in the taste. Not very sweet. Some hoppiness in the end. Bottled 0.75l.

Bottle courtesy Ibrew2or3. Pours amber with a large tan head that fades leaving some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, and slight chemical. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness. Good.

75cl bottle. Deep brown/ruby color with a lasting tan head. Doughy milk chocolate powder aroma with a slight tang. The flavor is light roast, chocolate, and some coffee acidity. Finishes bitter with a long acidic bitterness that lingers on the tongue, and chocolate that seems to experience a revival post-swallow. Medium bodied with airy carbonation. I could use a little smoother texture. For a porter that I could put down multiple pints of, this is quite nice. Tangy chocolate is definitely hitting the spot.

Has a brown, with almost a little violet, and a medium light tan head. Sweet chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Medium smooth body. Roasted malt and mocha flavors, with a light bitter spicy hoppiness. Rich but goes down smoothly
