Commercial Description:
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

Pours a dark brown with a big, puffy, well retained cloud-like head. Smells of light roast and sweet dark fruits. Maybe a touch of some chocolate cream as well. Tastes of very roasty malts, a touch of light coffee grounds and dark fruit in the finish. The chocolate cream is more subdued in the flavor and the sweetness of it becomes more prevalant. Pretty solid porter, but maybe a touch too sweet for it to really be a favorite.

Århus2008 75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a lacing white head. Hardroasted malt aroma. Flavour is hardroasted malt with a distinct acidic note. Ends with a mild acidic and roasted note. Simple and good.

Bottle. Pours a brown/dark red color with a big fizzy head. The first thing I notice about this beer is that it is overcarbonated. The aroma is a tad malty, grainy, dark toast and maybe nutty. Flavor is good, but beer just has too much carbonation. Drinkable for sure, but not my favorite porter by a long shot.

Pours a dark red with a beige head. Aroma features sappy hops, a hint of banana and light grainy chocolate. On the palate there is firm understated roast grain, a hint of chocolate and caramel malt, banana, and minty character that becomes more and more medicinal as the beer warms. The finish is malty and medicinal. Good beer although medicinal character detracts somewhat from the whole.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a very strong head. The aroma is midlly roasted and the flavour is quite deeply roasted. Overall a nice roasted and bitter’ish beer.

75cl bottle @ the meantime brewery. Stronger malt nose than the stout. Meaty ant not quite as complex. Makes more than up for it in flavour. Much meatier, heavy body. Darkest amber in colour light lacy white head. Fizzy heavy bready mouthfeel. Grand porter!
