Commercial Description:
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

There’s a little bit of a schwarzbier-like malt, which I don’t like. But something about the little bit of hops mixed with some roasted/other malts is quite nice, especially resulting in solid finish. Still though, that schwarzbier-like malt plus a lactose taste are present throughout bringing down an otherwise exceptional porter.

Pours a very dark ruby with a very nice tan head. Nice lacing too. Some nice roasted toffee and coffee notes in the nose, but there also a bit of a metallic smell in there that I’m not very fond of. The flavor is really nice. Toffee, mild creamy coffee, milk chocolate and some smokey/roasted notes in support. The mouthefeel is a bit thin and over-carbonated, but not unbearable by any means. Very enjoyable beer.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Very dark ruby brown with a smallish, tanned, head. Sweetish, caramely malt, and lots of milk chocolate in the flavor, with slight roastiness and some lactic sourness. Roasted-malty flavor turns sweetish and caramely towards the end, with not much bitterness, but some lactic feel. Medium-bodied, slicky and slightly foamy-carbonated palate. Maybe a bit sweet and straightforward, but quite enjoyable still.

Burgundy-accented brown. Pruney, plummy nose with light cocoa accents. Soft toffee notes with a neat dark malt character. A little too fizzy...less would allow the fruit to come through more.

750 ml bottle - pours thin and dark brown; cream colored head and some minor lacing; main aroma is of sweet bread and minor hints of roasted chocolate; drinks smooth with flavors of fruit, dates and a little sour; dry and chewy aftertaste; decent

Dark brown with reddish hue, gorgeous lacing, enthusiastic head. Smell is oxidized, rusty. Palate is thin and slightly sticky at the end. Bland or subdued flavors, depending on how you look at it.

Tap at CityBeer. Very nice dark color with a nice creamy head. Greta aromas of chocloate and mocha, great flavors as well. Nice cocoa, chocloate and creaminess. A well done, interesting porter.
