Commercial Description:
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

750mL bottle. Medium translucent brown with a small white head. Heavy sweet caramel malt aroma with some diacetyl and chalky chocolate. Bittersweet chocolate, toffee, and buttery caramel flavors. Some faint hop bitterness in the finish, with residual chocolate and a tinge of coffee. Mouthfeel is light, somewhat thin.

Sweet roasted malt flavor. Frothy brown head and dark brown color. Flavor is good balance between sweet and bitter. Mouthfeel is light but not too thin. Good carbonation. Solid all round porter. Very drinkable.

Aroma of chocolate and toasted malt. Maybe some coffee. Hazy dark apricot color (halogen light) and a quickly disappearing beige head that laced a bit. Starts with roasted malt, followed by some chocolate, followed by some coffe, followed by some nice bitterness. Some smokiness comes after awhile, and there is a nice level of bitterness in the finish. Really good. Neither sweet nor dry. Brilliant.

(large bottle) Deep reddish brown with rapidly fading tan head. No lace. Aroma of roast malts with some vanilla and alcohol. Flavor of dark fruits, hints of roast malt and chocolate. Only medium body.

Hugely enjoyable, sexy to drink and everything a good London Porter should be. I am in love with this beer and am grateful that I got the chance to try it on the other side of the world.. The brewer is a hard case too.

Almost pitch black with big, creamy tanned head. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, liqorice and a bit of smoke. Nice carbonated and creamy, medium body. Dry finish. Very good porter.

bb 01 11 08. Pours mahogany into a stem glass. Fluffy mocha head leaves extreme lacing as it slowly recedes. Pit fruit and chocolate aromas. Soft but complex. Smoked plums with sweet chocolate middle that darkens to a barely bitter hop finish. While not the most robust porter...eminently drinkable.

I was really disappointed in this beer. It poured a clear brown color with an off white head. The aroma was chocolatey/roasty, but the lack of flavor reallly let me down. It was like drinking a thin brown ale.
