Commercial Description:
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

I was really disappointed in this beer. It poured a clear brown color with an off white head. The aroma was chocolatey/roasty, but the lack of flavor reallly let me down. It was like drinking a thin brown ale.

Thanks to Badgerben for sharing this impressive porter. I have gotten bored with the style but this beer reminds me what a porter can be. Aroma has smoke, chocolate, coffee and tobacco. Flavor has some wine, with roasted and lightly sweet malt. Thick and heavy on the palate.

Black pour with just a hint of brown. Healthy mocha colored head. Plenty of lacing. Chocolatey aroma. Tons of flavor in this porter...sweet roasted coffee flavor. Very good.

Bottle. Pours ruby-black with a tall layer of creamy tan foam, slowly collapsing in nice sticky lumps. Dry roast aromas on first sniff, broadening to include a fresh bright character than I can’t decide is something hop related or yeast related. Baking cocoa underpins the aroma, and rounds things out. Strongly roasted flavor, dark chocolate, chalky, smooth. Some brown bread flavors seem to run just under the threshold of perceptibility, only occasionally breaking the surface, but adding depth. I often find my dark beer less dark-tasting than I hope--this one lives up to its looks. A terrific beer.

Deep auburn pour with a short off-white head. Rich aroma of caramel and malt. Bittersweet flavors of malt, brown sugar, cocoa, mixed with an astringent bite. Slow-drinking and very enjoyable.

Rich roasty aroma with plenty of vanilla and caramel. Thin dense head with light carbonation. Color is a cloudy dark amber brown. Sweet and roasty with lots of caramel and a dry bitterness that shows up late swallow. Dry crusty toasted bread at the finish. A pretty good dry and mild porter.

Pours a deep mahogany w/ a medium sized, spattered, creamy froth. Reduces at a moderte pace to reveal a beautifully laced brew. Aroma is malty. Full nectar w/ soft residual effers creating a creamy texture. Very nice indeed. Moderately roasted w/ a full malty backbone. Roasted coffee bean, bakers cocoa, brown sugar, mild caramel. Slight nuances of black cherry and brownies. Finish is perfctly bittered and long on flavor. Nice balance. Overall: drinks like an Imperial style with it’s generous nature but w/o all the extra alcohol. Connoisseurs choice. Highly recommended.

Pours an almost ruby-brown color with nice brown head. Aroma is of semi-sweet chocolate, roasted malts and a bit of nuttiness. Taste was cocoa, roasted malt, bit of coffee, and a bit of vanilla. These porter was very light upfront but brought all the porter characteristics to the palate in the finish.
