Serious roasted notes in the nose along with coffee, wood, and molasses. Great nose! Medium-high carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a little dryness to it. Great roasted malt notes on the palate. Coffee, caramel, molasses, light earth notes, and a little booziness makes up the remainder of the palate. Medium-long finish with some lingering coffee and caramel notes. Overall this porter is very sessionable and enjoyable. Barrios (858), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Clear, dark brown with beige head. Chocolate and coffee in the aroma which carries into the flavour. Hint of dark cherries and pepperiness alongside the roasted malts. Very light on the tongue. If there’s a criticism it would be that it’s a little too sweet even for a Porter. Decent beer overall and I’ll look out for more of their produce. Butters (1645), Virginia, USA

Roasty AND toasty with vanilla beans up your nose. Almost opaque red-brown with a quickly dropping, nearly white top. Smooth and velvety toasted almonds and vanilla with a touch of mocha in the finish. Very gentle bitterness yields to a slightly burnt toast finish. Moderate carbonation, almost clean finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2009 Bottled 75cl. It pours a clear dark ruby brown beer with a quick diminishing beige head. Walnuts, chestnuts and cress in the nose which is lactic. Some pizza dough and cucumber sandwich-like notes emerging. Sweet taste. Very low bitterness. Smooth. Medium bodied at best. Reminiscent of Milk Stout. Hints of candy, raisins an walnuts. Some mushroom and burnt match sneaking in. A lot of residual sugars in the finish with a generous amount of cucumber. Atypical and deeply interesting. hayduke (1637), Eureka, California, USA

The nose raised aromas of roasted malts with chocolate. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Flavor is mostly of roasted malts and barley. Dry finish. Well made and very drinkable.
