Commercial Description:
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

750ml bottle-pours a rich tan head and mahogany color. Aroma is roasty dark malt-chocolate/molasses, some dark fruit, some earthy hops, a bit of ash. Taste is roasty dark malt-ashy/chocolate/some dark fruit, SECONDARY earthy hops, wood/chickory. Not my taste but nicely done. Occasional.

A surprising aroma of fresh cranberries. The flavours are very well-balanced of oats, hazelnut and malteasers. Smooth in palate as well. An excellent winter beer.

The overt maltiness of this approaches and old ale or barleywine, but it is still a rounded rich and creamy brown porter. Seems well aged, with a slightly musty character. Caramel and coffee are the most prominent flavors, with dried fruit and a slight roast coming through.

Bottle. Dark red-brown colour with a nice beige head. Coffee, berries and caramel aroma and flavours. Well-balanced between dry roast, sweet caramel and tartness from the berries. A traditional and therefore rare take on a porter, but successful as such.
