COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Avaailable on Keg and in 750ml bottles.
George Washington was a big fan of imported English Porter. By 1769 he'd lost his taste for British beers. After all, it was keeping the Redcoats fighting. Our Porter is based on a recipe from 1750. We bring you the original aromas and flavours of the beer that made London the world's brewing capital, flavours we know Washington would have loved. Time, care and attention have enabled us to produce a blend of beers bringing you the flavour of the 1750's. Share this beer with friends and enjoy with barbeques, fish or shellfish. The ruby colour & bottle conditioning are proof of its heritage and authenticity.

Very bright on the mouth, kind of tart and bitter, dry and roasty. Smokey chocolate flavor, a bit of burnt yeast. Not very smooth. Sticky yeast aftertaste. I expected more.

I smell chocolate in this beer. Its a dark brown with a nice creamy brown head. Taste a dark chocolate and slight bitter taste. Its medium bodied with a little nutty flavor. Not a bad porter. Worth a buy.

750 mL bottle shared at a tasting on February 17. This is quite different than what I’ve come to expect for a porter. The pour is a medium to light brown, almost ruby, with a smaller tan head that lingers around a bit, with minimal, spotty lace. The aroma is quite bland. There is a little hint of chocolate, and an inkling of coffee, but nothing else. The flavor matches the aroma to a tee. The mouth feel is thin, slick, and the aftertaste does finish with a nice light chocolatey dryness, which is one of the best qualities of this one

On tap. Pours black with light white head. Aromas of dark chocolate and dried coffee. Flavors of black coffee, cocoa and roasted barley . Very dry. A tad metallic. Very nice.

Aroma: roasted malts, some chocolate. Appearance: nice dark brown color, beige lasting head. Taste: medium bitterness (alcohol), roasted dark malts, ashy, coffeee substitute, dry. Palate: full body, medium carbonation, long roasted finish. Overall: Classical English Porter, quite enjoying.

Good but odd for a porter. Dark brown with small tan head. Aroma is musty choxolate. Taste is a funky porter. Interesting.

Very different porter, served in a pretty innovative and unusual bottle. Nice chocolatety flavours that you’d expect of a porter and smooth finish but really not a patch on the Fuller equivalent
