3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2007 First rating.
Bottle of 750 ml with a cork like on the picture to the left. Bought at Swedish alcohol store "Systembolaget".
Beautiful ruby red color with a big creamy brown head. Coffee and chocolate scent. Big body and great bitterness. Big chocolaty and coffee taste and long aftertaste.
Cloudy look the second time, since the size of the bottle compared to my glass didn’t allow one pour only. Yeast sediment is to "blame", but I do love bottle conditioned beer.
Some alcohol in the scent when the beer gets a bit warm.
Second rating March 10, 2007.
75 cl bottle at Delirium Café, Göteborg.
Clear red-brown color, dissapearing tan/beige head. Nice smooth chocolate scent with some salty mineral in the back. Salty roasted chocolate and bitter taste. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
FROM NOTES: August 27, ’12.
From a 750mlbottle into a Spiegelau tulip.
A: Aroma is very roasted, with a dry cocoa note, a nuttiness, and slight caramel notes.
A: Pours black with some ruby highlights and a frothy two-finger head that leaves nice lacing behind. Retention is nice as well.
T: Follows the nose closely with a more pronounced chocolate taste coming through.
P: Light to medium body with a medium to high carbonation. Perhaps a bit to much carbonation for the style.
O: A fantastic porter! Great robust roasted flavors with nice complexity and balance albeit a little high on the carbonation. Highly enjoyable porter.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark, clear, ruby amber with a 1/4" head cover and full swirls/streaks of lace. Aroma is sweet roasted malt. Taste is the most pure toasted caramel malt possible with a light bittering appearing in the finish and lingering long afterward. This is my idea of how a porter should taste: no fruit, no chocolate/coffee, no spices, just dark malt at its best. This could be the standard by which other porters are measured.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 mL bottle into a pint glass. Very dark brown with creamy head. Lovely chocolate malt aroma, a bit nutty. Dry, malty, tasty. On the downside it has a slight acidity to it - perhaps a bit of Burton mineral salt (which technically means it can’t be acidic, but bear with me here). Overall though, its quite decent.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark brown with light beige head. Aroma is chocolate and roasted. Flavour is roasted and coffee. The chocolate and coffee notes are very subtle and mostly this is just rather roasted. It’s pretty good but very simple and could use a touch of something. Also, a little more body would do this good.

Dark brown-black body, medium sized tlight tan head, spotty lacing. Bittersweet chocolate, tootsie roll, a little roast, and dark fruits. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation, just a touch of bitterness in the finish.
