"Meantime’s London Stout is very much an old London beer as it would be made today."

Like everybody else I was struck by the color when I poured it into the glass. Not your regular deep black stout. Kinda of "coca-colaish" appearance, with some transparence. Thin head, almost zero lacing. Smells sweet roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Very light texture, tremendously drinkable (almost watery). The bitterness in the aftertaste is there, but is not a powerhouse like regular irish-style stout. A beer unlike anything I had ever tried. I liked it a lot. Refreshing and different! Not to be judged as a regular stout...

18th September 2008. Tasting at th brewery. A light stout with lots of sour malt. Tangy with some toasted malt coming through. Nutty semi dry finish. Quite porterish!

Pours near black with a thin off-white head. Notes of light toffee, chocolate and mild roast. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I enjoyed this but it was a bit mild.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and some cola. Very dark amber/brown in color with a tiny tan head around the edges only. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, and a hint of tobacco. Medium body. Thin, coating texture. Soft carbonation. Chocolate and roasted malt finish. Good for the style but pretty simple and thin.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, colour ok, nice and black, head was apparent for around 5 seconds then nothing. Vary watery, no body to the beer whatsoever....very disappointing

I WOULD RATHER DRINK A BUD LIGHT than this drivel. this is supposed to be a stout? it’s the color of a pale ale with the flavor of a watered down pilsner. THIS SUCKS.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Bible black with tan head. Pleasant roast malt and caramel aroma. Taste is unsatisfying and dull. Some roast flavourings but not much else. Far to thin-bodied for my taste and a major disappointment from a decent brewer.
