3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, from Hogsback store, at JF’s Calcutta Cup mini tasting - 02/02/13.
Hazed crimson with a thin white head that clears to bubbles around the edge.
Nose is slightly soured raspberries, light sugar, Ribena, raspberry syrup.
Taste is tarte raspberries, some sugars, light mineral tones.
Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, sweet in the finish.
Ok for what it is - bit of a palate cleanser and probably refreshing on a hot summers day/BBQ.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle. Pours a fairly unappealing orange brown colour with no head. Visibly fizzy on the top. Aroma is tart raspberry, but a little synthetic. Taste is also very tart, with a nice raspberry finish. The main issue is that it’s far too fizzy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy red colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of raspberry. It’s fairly sweet for a raspberry beer. Still pleasant and easy to drink though.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Booths, Media City. Deeper amber coloured with no head. The raspberry is its dominant characteristic, although not overly stated by any means, and the wheat ale texture works well for the ale too.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Unusual fizzness, one you would expect from a pop can not a beer. Its very much a raspberry to the point that it tastes like sour fruit juice more then a beer. You would think this would work better were is a lambric rather then a wheat beer as it is stylistically like one. Which is a shame as some of the german fruit wheat beers are lovely thick things. All in all its nit a bad beer and is a quite nice drink. Its just not what I was hoping for. If you want a tart raspberry beer stick to you Framboise lambics. Nothing interesting here, and nothing that hasent been done much better elsewhere. If you facy something a little more fruity and this is the only option thats got that by all means give it a try!

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
0.33l bottle. This is a cloudy hard to describe the color of one. Ehm, deep amber with a pinkish hue? Only a small off-white head with the same pinkish hue. It smells artificial fruity with lime and traces of raspberry bubblegum. Wheat sweetness also detected here. Not horrible. Slightly acidic-sour, or tart is a better word to describe the flavors here. Wheat sweetness detected, but the sourness overwhelms pretty much everything. Raspberry sourness of course. Thin and only in the mouth with a above average carbonation level. Grows on you, but definitely no masterpiece. 06.06.2014

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml Bottle from Whole Foods Market, Giffnock (£1.99):
As expected, raspberries dominated this one throughout but there was also some nice tart & sourness coming through alongside some funky flavours. It reminded me of a lambic in places & it wasn’t a bad smell to open things up. The taste wasn’t the best though, it seemed weakened when compared to the nose & was quite average really. Not a beer I’d have again but it was interesting to try at least without ever really exciting.
