Bottle@Home. Light earthy, light herbal, bit fruity, bit malty and even some citrus in the aroma. Not strong but interesting. Brown, beige head, fair lace. Light malty, very bitter - almost grassy - hops, light fruity, hints of toffee. Seems out of balance to me. Thinnish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled 33cl. Purchased in Drinks of the World in Zürich. It pours a clear amber beer with a smallish decently lacing head. Raisin, diacetyl, DMS and some caramel underneath in the nose. I can hardly find any Cascade reminiscence in the taste. I don’t like the malt profile. Nutty. Buttery finish which is surprisingly short. I am not a big fan of the style.

Bottle at the Pumphouse bar, Sydney. Was a decent beer, but was expecting more. Quite malt heavy, with a small hop profile. Plenty of earthy flavours with a strong caramel/toffee sweetness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear, light amber with a supple, just barely off-white head. Sugar and grain malt aroma. Nice flavor. Fairly sweet to start, with caramel, then some lightly toasted malts, followed by mild earth bitterness. Perhaps some toffee and maple syrup. Medium in body with average carbonation. Finish is crisp and clean, indeed, with lingering malts and faint metal.

[330ml bottle, The Bottle, York] Pours highly carbonated, swiftly dispersing head with a regular rising carbonation. Clear caramel brown copper colour, little hop aroma. Gentle, subdued flavour - very dry, little hops but some malt to balance out. A smooth easy drinker. The prime character is malt, with a caramel flavour that peters out very quickly indeed and finishes quite thin. It’s a good approximation of a style, but not a great style. Interesting Ray Richardson label.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
330ml bottle at the Greenwich Union, 24th July 2010. Russet colour with a fast vanishing white head. Light, with the weight of a lager, but malty and fruity on the tongue. Some hints of red fruits on the nose. Dry finish with even a hint of tobacco. Goes down surprisingly well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours dark copper to brown, almost no head. Taste is malty, sweet, some caramel and a moderated herbal hoppiness in the finish. Quite light and restrained but pleasant enough.

Pours vibrant red, off white head. Nice toasty biscuity malt aroma. Flavour is all about the malt - which is biscuity. Pretty much no bitterness, thin body. Clean finish. Clean but boring.
