330ml bottles and Keg. Formerly known as Meantime Vienna. Also includes Cascade hops as well as those mentioned below.
100 years ago Pilseners, Müncheners and Viennese lagers formed a trio of major lager styles brewed in central Europe. Gradually the lighter Pilseners swept all before them and Vienna style beers fell into an undeserved decline.
Traditional Bavarian Perle and Spalter hops and delicately coloured malts produce a deep copper coloured beer with a firm fruity caramel aroma, a smooth complex malt character and a long crisp clean finish. This beer is slow fermented and cold-matured over long periods to ensure perfect balance and gentle natural carbonation. Union goes with bread and wheat based foods such as pizza and pasta or more mid-weight dishes like duck or noodle stir-fry.

Pours vibrant red, off white head. Nice toasty biscuity malt aroma. Flavour is all about the malt - which is biscuity. Pretty much no bitterness, thin body. Clean finish. Clean but boring.

Bottled. An amber beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of butterscotch, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear amber with a dense off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and a little caramel. Medium body, sweet caramel and a clean and decent maltiness. A little hops in the finish. Good and straight. 230310

Nice balance of hops and malt but a somewhat watery palate. Inoffensive but hardly living up to the hype of the rather overpriced cocktail bar I had this in.

18th September 2008. Tasting at the brewery. Darkish gold beer. Malty bready lagerish. Crisp palate. Just a touch of hops in the finish. Inoffensive.

Ruby red with breadish but somehow fruity malts. Plummy and raiseny like a big plum pudding. Nice beer.

330ml bottle into pilsner glass. Pours copper-brown with a thin tan head. Toasted malty aromas with subtle caramel and faint hints of dark fruits, coffee beans and dry wood. Tastes moderately sweet with a nice dry bitter finish that lingers. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and low carbonation. Quaffable. Nice.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2009 From a 330ml bottle on 29/12/2009. Dark brown/reddish in colour, with almost no head. Smells of caramel and toffee, tastes the same - quite sweet, with some chocolate notes, and an almost lemony finish, with a touch of bitterness. An interesting drop, if not remarkable.

330ml bottle. Large dense tan blanket of foam that sist atop a base of deep dark brown and copper coloured liquid. Aroma of malt and hops that fills the nose. Tasty with a dry finish that lingers in the mouth. Refreshing and enjoyable.

Bottle - 330ml. Dark amber body with low carbonation and a thin off-white foamy head. Nice malty/hoppy aroma with plummy and flowery hints. Its hoppy taste is well balanced, but is rather thin and lacks complexity. Ends with a decent bitter finish. Good Vienna.
