Had this on tap at the Brewwharf pub, London 27-05-08 Pours dark amber in colour with good clarity, rapidly dissapearing white head. Tatse is initially quite malty some caramel and with some bitterness, its ok, there is some fruitiness there as well but all in all no great shakes.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 voota (765) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 21, 2008
Clear dark brown with a tan head. Strong Rye bread aroma, a bit of earth, toffee and a burned toastedness. Kind of feels a bit stale, like cold coffee and burned toast with butter. Medium body, not much bitterness lends to the smoothness of the mouthful and lets the bready malt character shine nicely. A soft cocoa and herbal flavour comes through lightly. The finish is bready and a touch sweet. A really nice vienna, better in the flavour and body than the aroma.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Dredd (638) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - MAY 18, 2008
Nice aroma on this, reminiscent of a Newcastle brown style ale of coffee, burnt toffee and caramel. Appearance is a but lackluster with a very flat pour and sudsy head that disappears very quickly. Flavour is ok, kind of thin body and a real hole in the profile with some cardboard in it amongst the dark malt elements. The finish is a bit grainy chocolate. Good but i wonder if there is something lost in the journey from the UK to Australia.

(33 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg) On April 23, 2008. Dark copper color, small white head. Stale sweet lager scent, also a bit fruity. Bitter, buttery, grainy, dry taste. Medium to full mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. Quite boring. I feel like the guy on the label, rather plain and bored, when drinking this.

A Mes rate: Keg at the Market Porter. Dark amber brown with a thin white head. Big sweet caramel malt and a none too great tobacco finish. Very dull, Meantime can do a lot better than this.
