COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First appeared as a draught special in March/April 2011.
This is not the same beer as the Marks & Spencer Greenwich Red Ale. They are similar recipes, but are not the same. They use completely different hops and malts.
Brewed with 5 hop varieties from the Yakima Valley, Washington State.

Kauge (127) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 13, 2014
Bottle from a Maksimarket near Rakvere in Sept 2014. Pours a dark, reddish copper with a tan head that persists well. It has a delightful, fresh, fruity hop aroma (for a moment there I got Haribo gummy bears), then deepens into more earthy, spicy, and slightly caramelly. Taste is at first some crisp maltiness, then caramelly and in the end, an earthy, grassy bitterness. Gets maltier as it warms. Finish is not overtly bitter, but dry. Body medium, carbonation quite strong. I’d have loved the 5 Yakima hop varieties to dominate some more in the taste. While the aroma was great, the taste did not meet my expectations. Overall still a very good ale to down with a snack after a busy day.

Bottle - pours deep amber with a light brown bubbly head that gradually fades to a ring. The body is very lively with carbonation. Aroma of grassy hops, orange and coriander seeds. A little roasted malt and caramel. Taste is coriander seeds, toasted malt, grassy hops and lemon to finish. Mildly bitter. The taste is actually pretty disappointing in comparison to the aroma. Light body, lightly dry and high carbonation.

Pours bronze with a medium, quickly diminishing head. Smell ia very gentle, almost subtle-citrus. Taste is full-bodied with more carbonation that adds to the streanght of the taste. Little hoppy, gently sour. A good beer.

0.33l bottle from the local shop. Pours dark golden/bronze, with thick beige head. Aromas of malt, hops, a bit fruity, grassy and a touch of caramel. On the palate there is hops, grapefruit, malt, biscuits, wood sap. A bit bitter and dry finish. Well balanced and refreshing in the summer heat.

Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Slightly lively on opening. Some hops but they are quite subdued at first before developing into a slightly hoppy finish. Expected more hops but still a reasonable and slightly different beer.
