Keg at the Blue Boar in the Intercontinental in St James. Lovely red colour, thick white head. Some biscuit and caramel malt, hint of citrus and pine hops. Nice enough but a little safe, even at 4% they could let the flavours run a bit stronger here.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from Utobeer, London:
Biscuit malts and citrus notes make up the smell initially, along with a slightly astringent aroma and some fruits around the middle that consist mainly of orange and citrus ones. There is some caramel towards the end.
Light copper with a thumb sized head that is a foamy white before roughly halving in size.
Caramel malts and a slightly sweet taste kick things off along with some biscuit malts from the nose and a light, earthy taste that is coupled with hints of fruit as well.
Light medium with a bittersweet mouthfeel and a slight citrus tang. The beer is smooth for the most part and leaves a lingering bitter aftertaste.
Not a bad amber ale and one that had a nice balance to it between the biscuit malts and the bittersweet flavours than became more pronounced as the beer had time to settle.
