COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First appeared as a draught special in March/April 2011.
This is not the same beer as the Marks & Spencer Greenwich Red Ale. They are similar recipes, but are not the same. They use completely different hops and malts.
Brewed with 5 hop varieties from the Yakima Valley, Washington State.

Keg at St. Aldates Tavern, Oxford. Clouded reddy amber with white head. There is a slightly harsh metallic edge to this at the start, tinny, bloody iron notes. Some sweetness, fairly thin with a berry type flavour. Just okay.

330ml bottle. Orange in colour, pours with a frothy white head. Floral and fruity on the nose, with a light and crisp flavour of hops.

Classy amber with so little in flavor intensity, kind of money waste. Light body, watery texture. Some dry finish from low FG.

The beer has a beautiful look. The color is just like you aspect from this beer. It is, of course, red. It has a little orange touch though. The foam is just slightly of white. It is quite creamy and sort. After a short time the bulk of the foam has collapsed, but a little drape of foam remains on top of the beer. The smell is quite nice. However, it is a little mild. It could have been a little stronger. The smell has a delicious little hop smell. This little citrusy aroma is not to strong, unfortunately. The malty, slightly bready aroma, which is also present, is a little to strong for my taste. It is stronger than the nice hop aroma. The smell as a whole is not bad, but to mild, a little weak. The smell is nice to. It also has a nice citrusy hop flavor. There is a nasty little mental flavor to, which is not so great. The beer has a little unpleasent aftertaste. It isn’t as great as I expected. But, it is sure isn’t bad. It is drinkable, and better than most pilsners.

Bottle at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) Pours a clear deep ruby amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, some toasted malts, a little orange and slight grassy hops. Taste of caramel, some toasted malts, slight red berries, a little orange, subtle pine and grassy hops. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, caramelly bitterness in the finish. A plain and simple amber ale, sweet caramel malt and red berries plus a little citrus, pine and grassy hops. Meantime do average craft beers and this is another one:

330ml bottle from HK Brewcraft. Pours rusty red. Hoppy aroma, malty taste. Average for me

Pretty generic, this one. Aroma of malt and dried fruit. Flavour is fairly bland. A little sweet malt, light fruit. Not much else. Meh.

Helder caramelroodkleurig bier met kleine bruine schuimkraag. Aroma’s: zoetig en hoppig. Mondgevoel is licht met lichte koolzuur. Smaak is hoppig met korte afdronk en bitterig eind. Verrassend rijk met weinig alcohol!

Draught pint at Devonshire Terrace on 18-Dec-2015. Clear dark ruby red colour with a tan coloured head. Aroma of malt and hops. Medium carbonation. Flavour of caramel, sweet biscuit malt and hops. Light bitterness. Refreshing and not too heavy.

Clear caramel red color with small brown foam. Aromas on the sweet side, of bit darker malt, quite simple though but a new smell to me. Would say it reminds dried fruits, bit figg like and raisins and plums. Palate, very light and almost watery, has very thin texture, bit of carbonation present and leaves this somewhat wanna be bitter finish. Taste is sweet-ish, has some metallic tones to it, and all the taste disapears quickly. Overall, looking at the beer and smelling it looked promising, was very excited about it but turns poop! Reminds more lager taste wise but not nicest one either. Quite sad :(
