First appeared as a draught special in March/April 2011.
This is not the same beer as the Marks & Spencer Greenwich Red Ale. They are similar recipes, but are not the same. They use completely different hops and malts.
Brewed with 5 hop varieties from the Yakima Valley, Washington State.

Bottle 33cl. Red brown with a beige head. Very nice aroma with plenty of fresh hops. A bit thin body but with a so nice hoppy taste that would consider this as an IPA style instead of Amber Ale. Rather short finish, but nice beer.

The Yakima hops are very present - aromawise as tastewise. Especially the first couple of sips is typed by the cistrus taste of this hop variety and offers a restricted bitterness - what makes this beer also enjoyable for the NON-IPA fraction of beer lovers! Then the British and German malt varieties take over and add a chewy sweetness. The whole, combined with the low ABV, makes of this beer a good summer drink. But by far not a perfect one as the body is too weak and the finish, despite a tart hop bitterness, is somehow castrated an stops in the middle of joy....

Meantime uit de fles. Geur is wat zurig en fruitig. Smaak is eerst iets zoet maar zet zich snel over in een bitter die niet fijn is

Bottle from Cellar Door, Four Oaks. Pours ruby red, single finger white head, medium carbonation. Aroma of fruits, lemon, orange...then some malts too, biscuit, caramel...Taste of malts at the start, caramel, toffee, toasted malts, biscuit, bread, then hops, orange, lemon, then a bit of yeast in there too, add some pine and woodiness. Nice.

Bottle. A tan brown colour with a small head. Aroma of citrus and yeasty malt, bitterness evident even on the nose. Flavour fairly acidic with citrus and coriander, some hoppy notes. Aggressive carbonation giving way to a watery finish. Poor and not at all enjoyable.

Bottle; pours clear copper with a khaki head; aroma is grapefruit with some caramel; taste starts sweet with caramel and then becomes bitter with grapefruit and orange; finish is bitter with more citrus; pretty good ale

5th May 2015: keg half-pint in Royal Oak somewhere in London. Red hue to the amber body, on top an off-white crown of foam. The nose had a mild malty aroma with some background earthiness. Taste, a blend of pale malts and slightly bittering hops: not as much going on as I hoped for. Not bland, but not flavoursome either.

33cl bottle at home. Clear amber brown with a small slightly off-white head. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Subtle sweet and bitter tones. Caramel, malts, herbs and spices. A decent amber ale.
