COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Meckatzer Urweizen fulfills all demands for a dark Weizen in a most natural way. It takes its dark colour, as well as its well-rounded taste exclusively from the fine Caramelmalts used.

It’s unclear dark golden with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of yeast (initially like baking yeast), sweet fruit and wheat. The sweet flavor has notes of yeast and citrus (lemon and oranges) more than anything else, but I also find wheat. The finish is lemony and yeasty.

Bottle by 02.03.13. Pours cloudy orange with a frothy beige head, nose is sweet with muddy malts and light cloves and yeast, same in the mouth but much sweeter and intenser. Crisp medium body, a little yeasty-slimy and spicy. Something about the label enthralls me.

Pours a very dark yellow with a small white head. So cloudy it looks like banana puree. Aroma is wheat banana and lemon.

Bottled 500ml. -Murky orange/amber coloured, big off-white head, fruity and light yeasty nose. Wheaty, yeasty banana taste with notes of alcohol and caramel. Too strong carbonation but pleasant weizen.

Bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass in the middle between helles and dunkles hefeweizen. Starts malty-yeasty, not too dry, some caramel notes, fruity notes of apricot. Well balanced finish, modest yeasty, quite drinkable. Not bad!

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. DArk yellow colour. Light malty and moderate hoppy and yeasty aroma. Nice fruity hefe notes. Moderate bitter fruity flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate but a little too fizzy.

Bottle 50cl. @ home.
Unclear sparkling medium amber orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, caramel, moderate yeasty, barnyard, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery - creamy, carbonation is lively. [20090924]

Bottle, bought @ Ambrosetti, Berlin.
Pours deep golden with a smallish, bubbly, off-white head. Fruity aroma with oranges, banana, good caramel and yeast. High carbonation, which is a bit annoying, otherwise fair carbonation. Flavour is sweet, some grainy caramel. Light buttery feel to it. Some slight earthy bitterness in the end. Not impressive.
