mihalis (12), Irving, Texas, USA Sep 19, 2008 Updated: Sep 20, 2008Tried some of this while visiting a friend in rural south Germany (Eglofs, Baden-Württemberg). Fortunately, I jotted my thoughts on paper, so here ya go...
Pours golden cloudy yellow. Nose of wheat and cloves. Crisp, sparkly mouthfeel, with lots of carbonation. Tastes like a field with a light fruity finish. Grassy bitter aftertaste.
Overall, a pretty basic weizen without much to it. Still, better than what we usually get here in the states. Nonetheless, one of most boring beers I tasted from this region. JoeinUccle (689), Brussels, Belgium Apr 28, 2008 A decent if uncomplicated Hefeweizen. Bottle pours a cloudy yellow-orange with handsome white head. Nose is not strong but sweetish with citrus and faint bubble-gum. Lightly sweet, fruity flavor with very faint bitterness. A bit thin for a Hefe but a lively soda-pop carbonation keeps things interesting and scrubs the palate. Fine beer for fine weather. Quack-Duck (1908), Bodensee, Germany Feb 21, 2008 bottle. Cloudy, pale yellow coliur. Medium-bodied, hints of banana and yeast, also of hay and grass. Well-balanced Hefeweizen. kappldav123 (1078), Markkleeberg, Germany Jan 12, 2008 The bottle looks really gppd, the blue is not bad. The beer starts very vapid, but becomes fruity very fast and is then very drinkable. Good beer. Beltramelli (465), Campinas, Brazil Dec 11, 2007 Interessante representante do estilo. Possui aroma e paladar de banana e fermento de pão. Boa drinkability.
