1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Had this one bottled at a roadside stand in eastern Puerto Rico. A light golden pour with a rapidly dissipating, white fizzy head, bubbly with a nose of yeast and canned corn, taste was similar. Finished weakly. Very refreshing after a long day driving on Puerto Rican highways, but that’s about it.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
I decided to try this beer when visiting Puerto Rico a couple of days ago. The color was pale golden. The head was thin, fizzy, and white. The aroma was a little yeasty. The flavor was corny. The palate was thin bodied and watery. The finish was abrupt and lacking. It was nice to have this beer on a really hot day to go with your sandwhich. It was quenching, like water...but that’s just it...it was like water.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle sampled in July 2006: Pours a clear pale golden with a thin ring of white bubbles. Aroma of lightly grainy mild pale malt and earthy faint European hops. Body starts very thin, watery and fizzy with very little going on at all. Bland and extremely thin and watery, but I guess that’s what they intended...

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle/can/draft in PR. Best served ICE cold on draft. Very simplistic beer with minimal flavor. Not bad, not fantastic.

Thanks to my sister in law for this 10oz can. This wasn’t bad for a light beer. Had a better flavor than the main 3 light beers. Good beer for warm weather.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2008 10oz can. My mother brought this back from Camuy, PR. Bright yellow and clear. no bubbles cascading. Thin light white head. smells like a bag of corn chips. NO FLAVOR! only bubbles.
HERE’S THE RE-RATE:: I had this beer again and on a beautiful day on this enchanted island this beer is sooo damn tasty while chilin’ at la playa. Long live Jobos.

Can/bottle Olde San Juan. Tried Medalla again recently. I forgot how much I enjoyed it when I was in Puerto Rico 15 years ago. Brought me back.

Not a good beer. Just regular fizzy corn water. It’s not skunked with is a plus, but probably the only one.

Awful, just awful. Being from Puerto Rico imagine my distaste with this horrible excuse for a beer. If anyone plans to visit the island, you should check out Old Harbor Brewery in Old San Juan, its a brewpub and their in house beers are excellent.
