A very decent light beer that just feels right in the south florida hot summers, light and crisp and well not much more

Small can, slugged on the streets of Old San Juan, midday. After watching countless locals swill this as at grimy neighborhood bars across Puerto Rico, I couldn’t help myself. I had to know what I was missing. I’d been hiking the hills of Old San Juan and worked up quiet a thirst. Recent newspaper reports said that low alcohol beer was better at re-hydration than water and are they ever right! This ice cold mini can went down fast and refreshing. I didn’t even notice a buzz. The residue left on my tongue was a metallic, urea quality with a bit of plant material. Cold, fast, and refreshing.

Better "island beer" than corona so if you are in a pinch for craft beer, it's not a bad substitute. Very neutral taste, similar to Amstel Light but with more malt aroma a taste in the form of a light crackers taste. Not a bad beer to session with on the beach.

This stuff is everywhere in Puerto Rico, and pretty cheap ($4-5 for a six-pack). Not bad as light beers go. Crisp, dry, and watery with a bit of corniness. Nothing special, but refreshing for a day on the beach.

Compare to any super light lager. Not worth the trouble, unless you happen to be in PR.

12oz bottle 1/30/13 (Parrot Club-Old San Juan)-Pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of corn and grains. Taste of the same. This light bodied brew was just another typical pale lager.

This is no game changer or anything made to impress you. It’s a Americanized bastardization of German pilsners. It’s the Puerto Rican version of Coors, Budweiser and Miller. Nothing special here but it’s a lot better than it’s US counter parts. There is no flaws in this beer in terms of off-flavors, it just lack any good flavor. For this reason I take this well brewed watery corn based lager over badly off-flavored craft lagers.
Aroma – Corn… malted water…
Appearance – pale corn… malted water…
Taste – corn… water…
Mouthfeel – thin, watery

Backlog rating from my visit to Puerto Rico in July 2008. 12 oz bottle. Poured a boring clear golden color with little a thin white head. Crisp taste of corn, hay, tap water, and grains. Well carbonated, thin watery body.
