1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 Fatehunter (752) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - MAY 24, 2012I’m sure this beer is traditionally drunk from the can. I classed it up a bit and poured it into a clear plastic cup so I could see what I was drinking. It’s a cloudy, but clear golden color with only a thinnest layer of head.
It smells like nothing, save a faint grain smell.
It also tastes like nothing. There’s a slight bitter (the slightest) at the finish. Prior to that it tastes like carbonated water.
Light bodied, crisp and moderate carbonation. A refreshing feeling.
To be fair the can does state “sabor con menos calarias y carbohidratos.” So if there’s no calories or carbs, what’s left? Drink one and find out.

LOL...first off I read the comment before this rating and I love it! I agree that Medalla Light is brewed in a GREAT PLACE. Puerto Rico is a 5. Unfortunately Medalla is much less than that. It is an non-complex, uninteresting lager that tastes mostly of water and corn.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 nearbeer (3050) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 21, 2013
UPDATED: APR 29, 2013 This is an industrial light lager along the lines of all others brewed in the same general latitude. It smells, tastes and looks like a beer-flavored water. It thrives on the basis of being the best choice (and a near monopoly) on the island. At least it’s always lawn mowing weather in PR.

Had a can from Puerto Rico, thanks Josh. Light pale adjunct lager. Drinkable, but also very comparable to seltzer in taste. Pretty neutral and not as bad as I thought.

Typical pale lager. Grassy grainy nose with a slight skunking. Pale yellow to straw with a small fizzy head. Undistinguished flavor. Light body with a bland finish.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 GT2 (5661) - Riverslime, California, USA - FEB 17, 2013
355mL found at Publix in Gainesville, FL. Clear, almost flat light golden pour. Practically no head, no carbonation at all. Nose is soap, sugar, overly sweet peach tea. Taste is papery, soapy, hydrogen peroxide. Bland, sugary, papery. It can be consumed but only forceably.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 BlackIPA (717) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Drunk many bottles of this in Puerto Rico. Fizzy, yellow alcohol delivery system. Stocked in the mini fridge of upscale hotels. Scroll past unless you are in the Carribbean.

Pretty decent for water. No foul taste or anything. Welcome to San Juan. Slanged this back in a corner bodega while an old woman tried to get me to dance salsa with her right after I got off the plane.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nekronos (3183) - Xalapa, MEXICO - JAN 29, 2013
Not bad for a light one, either for a lager from hot countries with no offense. Creamy and somewhat sweet too.
